Where was coverage of the austerity demonstrations?

50,000 people demonstrated in London yesterday, did you know....
What did the BBC have to say?

This is their 'report'

'The first austerity protest organised by the People's Assembly campaign group has taken place in London.

Organisers say tens of thousands of people met at Portland Place and marched to Parliament Square on Saturday.

The group included politicians and union leaders and was protesting about the impact of cuts around the country'

(that's it btw.. that's all they had to say, it was posted 1hr ago)

This is typical of the BBC - they do it all the time - when there is any kind of protest against the government and also with strikes , a 10 second mention on lunch time news and then the story just disappears into the ether ! Its disgusting - Just who is making the decisions at the BBC ?

It was on ITV and BBC London Local News
yesterday

The conservatives... We have to go to Russia for our news now.

'Assembling on the doorstep of the BBC's offices in London, the demonstrators marched to the Houses of Parliament demanding that “the alternative to austerity” is no longer ignored. Len McCluskey, leader of Unite, one of the two biggest UK trade unions, Caroline Lucas, leader of the Green Party and Russell Brand, the anti-establishment comedian, came to address the rally'

People should ring up and listen to LBC to try and talk about it to see what happens. They are notoriously right wing. http://app.musicradio.com/lbcnational/on-air/player/

The diverse march was even joined by Franciscan monks, who - in their traditional brown robes - were at the forefront of the protest.

“Christianity places a quite firm obligation from those who have more to share to look after those who have less,” Brother Robert, of the Franciscan order, told the leftist Morning Star newspaper.
''At the moment the government seems to promote an atmosphere that is rather, well, different,” added the monk, employing characteristic British understatement.

The coalition whilst bleating about 'Christian values' have no interest in what the church actually think of their actions, which are just about as unchristian as they can get!
It's all just lip service, all mouth and no substance to anything they say.... how have they got away with it?

Yes Kizzy
but Labour if they get in
will carry on

So the march - did nothing

Where?... Show me.
I think it's a given that not everything will be reversed, yet I would say the youth proposals already outlined give a more positive message than anything that is available to 18-21s currently.
