The rather blatant attempt by them to redeem Helen
 

Comedy tasks. The editing of a softer, more caring Helen. None of the sex talk that seems to still go on and motivates a lot of the negativity towards her from others.

I dare say even the editing of Ashleigh, though it is making her popularity go up, is all about trying to transfer some of the hatred for Helen onto her. Posts such as "She's just as bad as Helen" seem to suggest it is working on some.

Could the producers/editors be any more blatant?

I don't get it, we're seeing the same nasty bitchy Ashleigh we've been seeing for the last week or so, there's no editing to make her look bad.

I agree, I hope it doesn't work otherwise Ashleigh will be out next week

How can people blame Helen for Ashleigh bitching though? she's been bitching for a couple of weeks now and it's got more and more every highlights show.

As for Helen I would say she was getting the same edit as she always has, she was bitching last night just like she always has...not sure when she had any part in a comedy task?

Lets be honest if Ashleigh is nominated and out next week then it's her own doing, no one elses :umm2:

Of course there is, but it's editing by omission. You only show one thing that she does and leave everything else that may give a more complete picture on the cutting room floor.

Same with Helen. They are clearly trying to redeem her and giving her fun tasks to make her look good which they will then edit in the most positive light whilst cutting out all the vulgarity.

She's got a task that is all about her trying to be funny today. And it is clearly the case that they have been trying to soften her image over the last 3 or 4 days.

Not really. The edit always decides these things, especially if it's close.

Well the way your OP comes across is Helen is getting a good edit Ashleigh is getting a bad one, Ashleigh bitches there is no denying that..

I disagree she's (Helen) getting a good edit, if she was they would have omitted all her bitching from last nights highlights.

If Helen has a 'fun' task then it will be her first secret task this series, they all get one at some point or another.

They are trying ,but I doubt it will work,even on BOTS they have changed tack ,every show now they are pushing the "vulnerable " tag on her ,vulnerable my ass ,shes nasty and likes to make others feel vulnerable

They could really just leave Helen's bitchiest comments out and have the highlight's still make sense though.

Ashleigh's been like this for a few weeks, it's nothing new.

Helen's still being bitchy, she's just watching her step more when it comes to her temper because she knows she's on her last warnings with Big Brother.

I get a little tired of the editing card being played either way tbh. It's not Big Brother's fault that Ashleigh spends a lot of time bitching. They wouldn't be able to "edit" her that way if she was doing nothing.

Yes, Ashleigh bitches, but it doesn't show her doing anything else. She can't bitch for 16 hours a day - she must be talking to people - having normal conversations. Even when Helen was her worst, it showed her talking with the boys quite normally at times.
Their recent storyline they wanted to push centred around the conflict between Helen and Ashleigh so it suited them to show it exactly as they did and cut anything else out that wasn't relevant. They've done it before many times and they'll do it again. But you know that already. :hmph:

there's different sides to everyone and I'm pleased we're getting to see these with helen. I don't think anything can redeem her after some of her antics in there, and as matthew said last night it's much easier to go from cheers to boos than vice versa.
