I have this feeling Steven's mothers going in.

..I don't think it's just the 'relationship' though, I think his thoughts are that it's maybe about the photo/cutting up thing and not realising that everything about him is creepy...

I immediately came to the same conclusion watching last night - I also pondered how he can be so different in his business life ? He is sly and conniving with very childish traits (a very very spoilt little boy) trying to push the blame onto other people and urge them to make the same decisions he has !
