I don't think Nikki has a 'mental illness' at all anyway. It's just her, childish maybe, but far from mental. It's just the way she's lived her life till now - nobody's ever bothered to stop her, so why should she?

She needs to grow up! No wonder Pete couldn't carry on with her while she behaves like this. I guess she never had chance to grow up properly because she was always in institutions until she was in her mid teens.
