I think they seriously rigged it when Matthew went home

I swear to god i was so shocked when he went home and he didnt deserve it. And he was so safe in polls.

He deserved it, and he went, end of!

Hopefully he can go out for a drink with Ashleigh this weekend, that would be nice for them both

It was a fix. BB is sponsored by Supercasino and the bookies made a lot of money when Matthew went instead of Ash.

armand.kay 22-07-2014 11:57 PM

It's too risky to rig votes I don't think they would bother

Yaki da 23-07-2014 12:00 AM

I'm starting to think it as well. No one as far ahead as Ash was on those polls has ever not gone out on Big Brother.

We've heard about this sort of stuff before. And though you might think people are all the more unlikely to do it because of what the fallout might be, I think these people are actually drugged up to their tits this year and don't know what they're doing.

Sophiee 23-07-2014 12:01 AM

I don't think the voting was rigged, but they messed about with the editing to the extreme. he got a much more negative edit than usual and ash (who the previous week was hated and not getting a good reception at all) was barely getting any airtime whatsoever.

I can see what you're saying about the editing - but even with that, Ash was a cert to go in ALL the polls. when someone is odd on favourite to go and then they don't, well, the bookies make a LOT of money.

Josy 23-07-2014 12:04 AM

Ash's fans were voting to evict Matthew like crazy people, all over his twitter they were posting screenshots saying the had voted 20, 40, 50 times each.

CaudleHalbard 23-07-2014 12:05 AM

I think it is utterly hilarious that some people (hopefully a tiny minority on here) think that those who run BB actually care about who goes or stay. :D

They care about the profit the show is making - mainly from advertising and sponsorship.... and those deals are sealed before the series even starts.

They do not give a flying ***k who goes or stays.

I've followed Big Brother for years and have paid particular attention to the polls for all of them... I have never ever seen anyone get evicted when they were as far behind as Matthew was, campaign or no campaign. There was a campaign to save Ashleigh and that was reflected on every poll that had Jale going out.

The most reliable one is tellymix and he was no where near Ash that week. They called Toya going correctly, and they called Jale going correctly. Yet somehow they were that far out on that Matthew eviction? They called Pauline's eviction correctly within a percentage point.

Just think about what they've done this year...

After a campaign to Save Ashleigh by evicting Jale, they decide to take the public vote out of the eviction process altogether.

When it takes out Marlon and Danielle (though Ashleigh was in the running both times), they then have a vote for PH and tell us and her that she will be immune from this weeks eviction and be the most powerful PH yet. What then happens? She ends up for eviction.

This is beyond farcical now.

People keep saying this, but I don't know what's so difficult to believe about a bunch of pot smoking half educated media student twats doing this sort of thing. These people are not professionals. Aaron from BB12 spoke about what nasty pieces of work they were. Deana refuses to have any involvement with them at all after they told a blatant lie about her being informed about what Conor had said about her. They're amateurs, and horrible people as well.

Yeah you have mentioned all of that before.

None of it however proves in any way that any votes were rigged at all, which was the point of this thread, none of it proves that the producers want certain housemates out and certain housemates in and most of all none of it gives a reason as to WHY they care either way.

The votes for BB are monitored by Electoral Reform Services and the show producers and the tv channel would be in very serious trouble if any vote rigging was going on.

Also Toya and Matthew were also told they were safe and weren't it wasn't specifically thought up to target Ashleigh.

Amy Jade 23-07-2014 12:23 AM

Matthew went because:

A. Ashleigh used him as a pawn and at the time she was unpopular and as a way for people to mess up her plan they voted out Matthew.

B. Ash fans noticed and used it to their advantage, he was the only one Ash had a chance against.

C. He wasn't very interesting, he's a slightly posh, camp know-it-all.

I wish people would give up on the conspiracy theories surrounding evictions. Why would BB rig the vote and risk utter ruin to save anyone?

Oh I admit, I can't prove it. And as for WHY they care. Again you're asking me to answer something only someone privy to their conversations could know. It would take a court of law with all the evidence to prove the motive. All I ask of people is to recognize how dodgy this show is this year.

We were told on the night Toya and Matthew became PH that one of them would face the public vote and they became PHs due to housemates nominating. I still think that was dodgy, but this is far worse... Not only have housemates been told they were immune, but we have voted for someone to be that PH and were told repeatedly afterwards that they were immune. They're telling flat out lies to us now after getting us to waste energy voting.

Do you not think something very dodgy is going on here this year? It's almost as if they are trying to infuriate viewers and run this show into the ground

No I don't think anything dodgy is going on that's the honest truth, I think they are doing everything they can to play up to the 'power' twist since they have made such a big deal about that the whole way through.

Also yes we were told that either Toya or Matthew wouldn't be as safe but they were told they were immune.

And again... Never, ever, has anyone that far behind on eviction polls, tellymix being the most reliable of the ones left, been evicted. They said it was close, and maybe it was, but I still think there's something worth looking into there.

It's not as if television channels and programmes haven't done this before.

RockBottom 23-07-2014 12:32 AM

As much as I dislike Matthew and was so glad to see him go, I felt really bad for him. He has to be the most unhappy person I have ever seen. Life is too short to be that unhappy. Good luck to you Matthew.:cheer2::dance::cheer2::dance:

Vicky. 23-07-2014 12:32 AM

I dont think they would risk it, what would be their reason? If they wanted to save ash, or get rid of matthew they would just manpulate the vote (as they have done to save steven numerous times)

Josy 23-07-2014 12:33 AM

Yakida, have you read Ash's twitter for the week he was against Matthew? his fans vote like crazy but that week they went mental with it, there was tons of screenshots being shared to show how much they were voting.

Yes, but you admit they are now lying to the viewers?

And you don;t think all this interference and constant manipulation despite viewers repeatedly saying they are fed up with it isn;t being done with some sort of strange agenda behind it?

It doesn't make you think "What the hell are they playing at" at all? Emma looked fed up tonight, Rylan was oblivious. It's very strange.

Josy... The same thing happened with Ashleigh and Jale, but all of that was reflected in the polls. Jale was way ahead on every one of them. Why wasn't all this support reflected in the polls with Ash like it was for Ashleigh/Jale?

I only see people on forums saying they are fed up with manipulation when it isn't going well for the housemates they support tbh myself included

The viewers in general aren't annoyed because they are still watching going by the ratings.

They never really lied to us, only to the housemates but they also covered their backs by repeatedly saying 'No one is safe'

Lowest rated series on Channel 5 isn;t it?

I'm sure they told us repeatedly that they were immune. They did so in press releases and on BOTS didn't they?

But they asked us to vote for the PH without giving us these sort of details and letting us think that person would be immune like Chris was when he was voted PH.

I just don't know why fans of this show are defending them over and over this year.

Fair point about the poll but then people obviously went with that poll and thought Ash was a cert to go and never bothered to vote enough to evict him at the same time as his fans were voting like mad to evict Matthew.

Reading fb and twitter that week you could see there was lots voting for Matthew because they support Ash but then others (mostly on fb) were voting for Matthew because Ashleigh tried so hard to get Ash out.

Brilliant post Yaki da and spot on.

How anyone cannot see the blatant bias and unfairness is beyond me.

And how anyone can defend a TV programme getting people to spend money voting for a housemate (Ashliegh) to be immune from eviction - and then BLATANTLY rigging it so that the housemate is NOT immune - well, words fail me.

Offcom should really get involved in this one.

Not only is it playing nasty mind-games with Ashleigh, it is also lying to the public and getting us to spend money under false pretences.

Bloody wrong.
