Fur..

What do you think of it??

I HATE IT!! Personally i think it's discusting and cruel. It shouldn't be allowed at all. People who wear it should be ashamed of themselves. 'Role Models' such as J.Lo and Beyonce wear it, and i think it's just disturbing. Also it's really sad that it's big in fashion. Millions of animals are skinned alive beacause these selfish people, too them it's just clothing but for me it's an animals life. People should be happy in their own skin, and not wearing the animals. I am a vegetarian and proud and even though i dont really like animals it still doesn't make it right for people to wear them with no concern over what's happened to them.

BBOOO to all fur wearers :mad::mad::mad::mad:

LittleMissC 06-10-2006 03:02 PM

Yeeeeeah I agree totally boooooo to wear wearers!!
It's horrid and should be against the law.
I mean, people aren't allowed to wear other people skin ewwww
Why should it be different with animals!

Sophii3x 06-10-2006 03:06 PM

I know, Callie just because they dont have a voice it makes everything all right for them to kill them.. Im glad that people like the McCartneys are giving animals that voice

Chrizzle 06-10-2006 03:25 PM

To be honest, I dont really mind.

I personally wouldnt wear fur, cos I dont like the thought of a dead animal on me.
But I would never protest against it, because if people like it, they like it
Its hypocrytical to eat meat and protest against fur, if people do

if people wanna wear fur, let them I say

Sophii3x 06-10-2006 03:28 PM

I dont eat meat, because im a vegetarian, but i know what you mean Chris:thumbs:

Chrizzle 06-10-2006 03:29 PM

Lol.

I would never wear it, and I do think its wrong.
But I had this debate about fox-hunting with someone, and havnt spoke to them in 2 years cos of this big arguement that happened cos of fox-hunting
People dont stop us what we wanna do. It may be a sick hobby- but it is one

Sophii3x 06-10-2006 03:38 PM

lol

Ruth*Star 06-10-2006 03:41 PM

i would never wear fur, its wrong, i'd feel bad for the poor animal that may of died for somewone to wear it, its sad that innocent animals die for fashion these days.

xGemmax 06-10-2006 03:43 PM

I agree its disguisting to wear fur and people who do make me sick!! How selfish can they be to parade around with some poor dead animal on them?:mad::mad:

Sunny_01 06-10-2006 04:02 PM

But do any of you people who are "disgusted" wear leather shoes? or do you all wear nasty plastic shoes to protest the killing of animals for leather!

Personally would not wear fur because it just looks NASTY! but each to their own is what I say. There is far to much worrying about what other people do in the world instead of focusing on ourselves.

I would be more up in arms if this were a discussion about prison sentences for sex offenders etc than worrying about fur coats worn by the rich.

Bells 06-10-2006 04:16 PM

I'm not a vegetarian, but I wouldn't put together eating meat and wearing fur - eating meat is to get nutrients, whereas wearing fur is just for fashion really, so I think they're two very separate things even though they both involve killing animals. Wearing fur to me seems selfish and cruel.

LittleMissC 06-10-2006 04:18 PM

I've always been a veggie lol
Fox hunting and wearing fur is just SICK ewwwwww :bored:

Ruth*Star 06-10-2006 04:25 PM

Oh and Pigion Shooting is sick aswell, yeah there just birds but there animals aswell.

 Omg I didn't think of that!! But yeah you're right

I wierd cos everyone round here does fox hunting like it's nothing...

If people arent willing to wear fur cos of animal cruetly - then they should alsobe more cautious of using some mainstream cosmetic products... and eating sweets such as Wine Gums. Cos animal cruetly also goes into making them.

sol 06-10-2006 05:35 PM

If the fur is from an animal that has been killed because it has to be killed, for example, because pepople are hungry. Eg. in LEDCs then it's fine, in my opinion.
But if the animal is killed just for the use of it's fur then that is wrong, inless someone had to kill the animal otherwise they would freeze to death.

Siouxsie 06-10-2006 08:31 PM

fake fur yes but i still agree with pete burns if thats what he wants to do

Princess 06-10-2006 11:36 PM

I am totally totally against fur. I'm a vegetarian and proud of it :spin:Although I'm completley against all the harming of animals in any way I have to admit I do wear leather shoes. But it is like impossible not to. I might sound hyprocitial but shoes are a bit different to wearing a dead animal. It is really hard to find good non leather shoes.

Sophii3x 07-10-2006 10:34 AM

Princess, I understand where your coming from it's just sooo hard to find non-leather shoes but they are around. hehe :D

emz438 07-10-2006 01:48 PM

I am against wearing fur I have to say, it's cruel how people kill almost already extinct animals for fashion - but I am not a vegetarian and I don't really see how that makes me a hypocrite. I was brought up to eat meat - we all were - it's like human nature, and part of our diet. What if I was allergic to dairy and didn't like nuts, etc.? How am I supposed to get protein? Also, there are hundreds of thousands of chickens, turkeys, cows ... etc. in the world - I don't think any of them are going to run out just yet. The bad thing about killing for fur is 1) people being so shallow they think they can just kill an animal for their looks, and 2) the animals are mostly nearly extinct. There aren't enough left to survive.

Theres a difference between eating meat, and wearing fur.
With fur, the animals are killed in a completely inhumane and painful way, but with meat they're most likely to be slit in the throat which is instant.

But I refuse to eat shyte like Mcdonalds, since the animals are badly treated in their lives.. Also, any of that supermarket non organic crap I don't eat either..

I know, Iv'e seen undercover footage of a KFC chicken factory. And it was horific. They were living in crowded conditions and with all these drugs they were made to take to put on weight they were crippled because they were so heavy. Also they just fling them in boiling water, alive so they die the most inhumane way and they littrally die in a great deal of pain in boiling water. The poor things.

Did you see the "dispatchers: supermarkey secrets" on C4 last christmas? It showed the turkeys for the tesco and sainsbury's (or one of those) literally being thrown into a van to go to the slaughter house. They also had their beaks cut off when they were conscious and they were all shoved in a tiny shed with no-one there to clean out their poo. They rarely see the light of the day...

That's why I buy organic food..
