outraged HM

Why are hm outraged because they are nominated? Isn't that part of the game?

And why is Steven so certain there were 'other hm more worthy to be nommed' than him? (as he told Chris.

And why didn't Chris just tell him to get over it! Sheesh.

rusticgal 24-07-2014 09:27 AM

Because knobs like Steven and Helen think they have a god given right to be there.... Steven is not used to rejection because he has been incredibly spoiled by his mother. He isn't a nasty bloke but just incredibly selfish and everything is about HIM...

Lister of Smeg 24-07-2014 09:27 AM

Steven thinks he has a devine right to be in that house. The level of self entitlement he's showing is astonishing no doubt he was heavily mummy'd wrapped up in cotton wool and told he could do no wrong as a child .

HBB1508 24-07-2014 09:29 AM

It's Helen's gaff so how very dare they nominate any one of her gang - it's just not cricket!!!

Mick 24-07-2014 09:29 AM

Nominations are an integral part of the show and any HM must feel the double whammy of A/ Some of these people don't wish to live with me and B/ I could now be evicted. All must have these thoughts but some deal with it better than others.

With Steven he genuinely believes he is superior to all the other HM.Witness his first time early in the show when he said "Other less significant" HM should be up instead of himself. There are many interpretations to his use of "Less significant" but none which do him any credit.

RE Chris he can see the real Steven more so than the other HM.He does not like what he sees and yes perhaps he should make Steven more aware of this but has he figured out that it would be a waste of time because Steven only listen's to what Steven wants to hear.?

Ellen 24-07-2014 09:32 AM

They know its a game & they know nominations are part of that but when you have made friendships and alliances then it is understandable they will be upset when one of them is nominated or evicted.

Good point. It really would be like pissing in the wind.

Exactly whats there to gain out of telling Steven the truth about himself he asks people opinions then if there not what he wants to hear he talks over them or just walks away.

It's a funny thing that someone with such a deluded sense of their own significance is also so insecure - it's not a good combination.

I have no idea why they get so upset. They all know what the game is and how it works and yet they take it all so personally. They all have a huge sense of self-entitledment.

Welcome, Number One.

Hi Livia, I'm another newbie on here.

Oh please can we just get rid of that delusional creep this Friday.

He makes my skin crawl!

Hello other newbies!

Welcome to the forum Rosie & Tip :)

I think these people were chosen specifically to fit in with the power trip theme and one of the reasons was probably that they can't deal with things like rejection well, they mostly all have a self important streak, and mostly all deal with being nominated as if someone murdered their family member

I think this is an interesting comment. I was wondering when short listing potential HMs just how deeply the production people go into the potential interactions between individuals and the group.

I had not even considered the aspect that they could also be picking those they deem most suited to the theme of the show.

Thank you Josy, nice to be here.

Oh goodness, I could run out of words for Steven. Just a few- selfish, obnoxious, creepy, cringeworhty, crass - 'open it'. And as for his eating and table manners- oh please. He makes me want to vomit.

I would run a bloody mile away from that in real life.

If you're watching Kim- Run. Run away as far away as you can!

CaudleHalbard 24-07-2014 10:57 AM

Steven has had his fantasies indulged by well-off parents: to the extent he believes himself to be a successful and wealthy entrepreneur.

As opposed to running a failing window -blinds business with net assets of £1200 and which can't even keep its website running, because it's run out of bandwidth.

A rather sad case because I don't think he is a bad person. Just a deluded one.

Vanessa 24-07-2014 10:58 AM

I know, right? It's part of the game.

rusticgal 24-07-2014 11:01 AM

...and doesn't it just annoy you when one of the gang are nominated they all gasp and throw their hands to their mouths.... It's so telling..when it's Ashleigh Chris or Christopher there is no reaction.

She will. Once the mag deals dry up.

Yeah, I get that.

Oh goodness, ok then- Kimberly, make your money (don't actually blame her for that- she may as well while she can.) But after- Run Kim run!

CaudleHalbard 24-07-2014 11:15 AM

I don't see much affection towards Steven in Kimberly.

Maybe that's because of her robotic persona, but I too think the mag deals come into it.

The amounts of self-entitlement on display in recent years has been frankly shocking. Not all, but many HMs have shown that they expect wonderful prizes and rewards for doing absolutely FA except actually entering the house. But I suppose this is the natural result when a person has everything handed to them on a plate from birth, and is never made to realise the consequences of their actions.

Very true.

Also, Helen only screams and shouts about "two-faced BASTAAAARDS" when one of her buddies is nominated.

That's the thing about that group. Everyone has to adore them, it's utterly inconceivable that anybody could want to nominate them. They've probably convinced themselves that it actually says in the rule book, "Nominating Helen's friends is deemed unacceptable behaviour."
