Do you ever think about what life will be like when old?

Go.

Marc 02-08-2014 09:18 PM

That's now for you isn't it?

joeysteele 02-08-2014 09:18 PM

No,I would guess I will be as daft then as I am now, age is just a number.

Amy Jade 02-08-2014 09:26 PM

I'll probably be like Sophia from Golden Girls

GypsyGoth 02-08-2014 09:27 PM

I'd say there will be a cure for aging in 10 or 20 years.

As the oldest female on here( I think), I can tell you truthfully that life gets better in loads of ways as we age.
Kids leave home, you can swing from the chandelier without fear of interruption, mortgage paid, you still feel the same as you did inside at 30 really.
I suppose hubby and I are classed as oldish, we do discuss death and funerals etc, so you sort of start putting your house in order.
At the same time we could still gave a good 40 odd years ahead of us.
If you are 18 then 30 seems ancient, so I don't know when people actually think of what old is.

Ninastar 02-08-2014 09:33 PM

I'm not afraid of getting older. I look forward to it. I can't wait to have a proper job, a family and (hopefully) kids. It's something I've always known I'd do.

I mean there's always the chance it wont happen, but I doubt it. I'm having a family whether people like it or not!!!!!11

Terrified of it. I'm sure that'll change as I age, but the idea that I'll slowly deteriorate is frightening. A ways off it now and I'm fortunate that my grandparents are still full of life and energy, hopefully genetic.

mizzy25 02-08-2014 09:41 PM

I don't want to get old as in 80s or wotever. Ive worked for a few 80 odd year olds 1 was a horrible nasty filthy old cow, 1 was lovely and loved to talk then died suddenly and 1 was also lovely but her minds gone. Smudgie how old are you? if u don't mind me asking. Im 47 so not that young more middle aged.

Im 59 and looking forward to retirement next year, will be starting with a tour of Australia, visiting friends & relatives that I havent seen for years. After that hopefully will be visiting relations in Canada, combined with touring theUSA,my son wants to come on that one. Have also signed up for a course in computers so that I can learn how to use this contraption better. Age really is just a number.

Until recently I've only toyed with the idea of getting old. I always figured I'd die before I was 30, not in a morbid way, but given my family history. It's only now that I m over that milestone I have started contemplating what life may be like when older to a greater depth. It kind of scares me getting old, more because I don't know what to expect.

Life in terms of how this planet will be or individual?

lostalex 03-08-2014 03:31 AM

I'm pretty sure between the drinking, smoking, drug use, junk food, and just general lack of health it's not something that i have to worry about. I think i'd be lucky to make it to 60. i just hope i die in my sleep. i don't want to know i'm dying if i am, like roosevelt said the only thing we have to fear is fear itself. i'm scared of being scared of death, so i don't want to know.

Kizzy 03-08-2014 10:56 AM

hedonism doesn't last, I got to 40 and started to panic as I wasn't the strong amazonian warrior princess anymore....
My advice? don't have a 'tomorrow never comes' attitude, as one day there will be no tomorrow for you but saying goodbye to those you love is unimaginably painful.

lostalex 03-08-2014 11:06 AM

no fear gUys, jUst wake Up and be grateful.

Kizzy 03-08-2014 11:24 AM

I'm a firm believer in 'saturn returns' where we completely refocus and reevaluate what our priorities are every 7yrs, at 42 I'm coming into a new phase. Would me at 21 or 28 have the same outlook? hell no...hindsight is a wonderful thing
