if ashliegh had made the first move in the truce?

Would she have been advised? Would she have been genuine?

I bet she would be applauded for making the first move but because helen did she was told to do it. Lets not forget helen made the first moves in the last truce. I also think this forum is very biased and nobody is willing to praise her for being genuine she could win and give the 100k to homeless orphans and this forum will still say she was advised to do that or they made her do that as she is so selfish she wouldnt do anything for anyone.

Me personally i started to like helen then hated her for weeks but this last few weeks i have seen a totally different side to her which i have enjoyed watching and she has quickly become on of my fav housemates from the ch5 era.

Cherie 15-08-2014 09:54 AM

what do you mean the "forum" is biased, we are all individuals with our own opinions who make up the forum.

I mean some member have decided on hating helen and no matter what good she does will never accept it and its always got to be a fix

I do not hate Helen or any other HM.(Will admit to very much disliking Steven).

I really cannot see BB advising Helen in this respect as they would know that she would sell them out as part of her Mag deals.? Steven may have but the bottom line is that it would still be Helens choice RE acting on the advice.

Helen (so far) has not appeared receptive to advise from anyone, even her best mate Ash was totally mugged off and ignored on the occasions he tried to advise her to calm down.

If she has changed for the better then well done her but I feel to little to late.

It seemed genuine to me but at the same time it's easy to understand how people may think it otherwise because of all the outside interference yesterday. I hope it was genuine though

Just a small note, Ashleigh did make the first move...

What was said:

A: "There was a worry, the more quieter the house got, the more I started to think that I'll be leaving things in the house that happened in the house and..."

H: "Will we call it a truce?"

A: "Yeah"

Sounded to me like both girls had a good time that night, both had had a few drinks and both are a little tired of all the crap.

Nell_McCoy 15-08-2014 10:25 AM

There's no truce Ashleigh believes she has accepted the total surrender of Helen who knows she cannot beat Ashleigh in the present circumstances. But Helen will use the truce period to re-group, re-arm and and launch further attacks against Ashleigh when she gets out of the house via other ex- HM's and the press if she gets the chance.

Does anyone care what they do after the house?

Of all the previous series, how many HM's do people still have an interest in? I follow one or two of them on Twitter, thats about it.

the flipside of that is that many on here have forgotten about the last 60 days and seem intent on basing their views on the last 10 plus a green tinged hatred of Ashleigh

Ive disliked ashliegh since week 3 but my opinion changed last night

It was'nt just Helen to call the truce,They both did it.I think they are all secretly a little nervous for the final and don't want any bad blood for it as they need each others support without the arguing adding to their anxiety. They'll probably go back to disliking each other again when they back to their phones and on Twitter.

Ammi 15-08-2014 10:59 AM

..for a truce to happen it needs two people or all parties involved in ‘hostilities’ and it looked to me as though it was genuine from both because who wouldn’t want their few last days in the house to be enjoyable..they have all ‘survived’ this together and even though we as fans and viewers may think that they would be eager to leave such an environment it must be incredibly scary for them to know they’re all going and to have to ‘face’ the public and the good/bad or ‘ugly’... the house also must feel like a safe haven for them and they need support and comfort from each other because this is the only eviction through it all where they all know for sure they will be leaving the house...

..if Ashleigh made the first move..she would have been applauded..?..well yes by some but she would also have been equally condemned by some as well...and that’s always been the nature of BB and the support of a housemate...hypocrisies/ironies etc are ‘guilts’ no matter the housemate supported and not specific to fans supporting particular housemates..some will see no right, some will see no wrong etc stc... but for the whole there have also been points on both sides to consider and all equally valid in their support....I also think that whatever someone’s own opinion is and for whatever reasons they hold that opinion.. it’s also unfair to generalise on forum opinions in such a way as to being unfair or biased or to dismiss the praise that both housemates were given for their display of affection last night by many members...

She would have got the same treatment as Helen

Well said Adam, the blind hatred for Helen is kinda sad,but like you I disliked her for a while and as I watched I saw her unfold into someone who is kinda quite nice under all that bravado, and yes I agree, had it been Ashleigh, people would have seen it so differently.Ah,well it's nearly over now.

But as I said above it was Ashleigh that made the first move. So what would have happened if Ashleigh made the first move, is that most of the credit would go to Helen and people wonder what would have happened if it were Ashleigh.

That's so convoluted it almost a Catch 22! :joker:

Don't get me wrong. I think that they both came to that point together. It was nice to see. And it should make the final show a little easier to watch.

Why are some people so polarised in their view ? It's a relationship/interaction that develops over time. It's dynamic, each influences the other's behaviour, sometimes magnifying their natural inclinations. With these recent events, some are saying "X made the first move" as if that makes X an angel and Y the devil incarnate.

Over the years I have watched BB it seems to me that in the final week, previous 'enemies' lighten up and at least superficially become more friendly. For example, Nadia and Jason in BB5. This year is the same, albeit more exaggerated because of the producers interference. I suspect Helen and Ashleigh were naturally coming to this state of affairs anyway, regardless of external influence. Who ever made 'the first move', did not do so 'out of the blue' or in isolation. There was an appropriate time.

When X made this 'first move', I don't expect they would have done so if Y had been scowling at them at the time.

Thats exactly it.

The two were sitting together in the smoking area just prior to being in the bedroom. They seemed to be chatting comfortably and all the awkwardness of earlier was gone.

They both were in the same place mentally, hence Ashleigh was opening up and Helen was receptive. Had either been scowling then that "moment" would never have been reached.

This was a good thing for both sides of the divide, inside and out. Its pointless trying to over analysis it.

Helen is a much bigger person than me....I can't pretend that I don't still dislike the miserable little 'professional-cutie'...she is and always will be a manipulative sly-girl that has no consideration for anyone but herself, and takes great pleasure in other peoples misfortunes! ....So no!...I wouldn't have been as 'Big' as Gobby-Helen, and let the sulky little twat off the hook!!...not for one second! :nono:
