Ultra Rare Video of Donny Hathaway 1971

1971

Donny Hathaway - Electric Piano
Fred White - Drums
Earl DeRouen - Congas
Willie Weeks - Bass
Cornel Dupree - Guitar

Donny sadly jumped from his
hotel room in January 1979 to his death aged 33
after a first day of recording with Roberta Flack.
He had said he wanted to do his own music,
he was having other problems.

Had had mega hits with Roberta in 1972

Amazing Musician/Singer

Agreed. I'd argue he's greater than Stevie Wonder. Extension of a Man is an incredible album.

Yes that came out on a quadraphonic LP mix
they must do a DTS 5.1 version.

But also that 4 CD box set "Never My love"
with a 20mins orchestra track "ZYXYGY Concerto"
never before out (no vocal) recorded Nov 1973 with a full orchestra

Yes a Special Tune to so many
it was also mixed into to a 1973 Quadraphonic LP
they are great to remaster into 5.1 DTS
I hope Warner- Atlantic do that
or let another company have the 4 channel master tapes
