Desperately hope this doesn't fall through. Even however likely it seems, Woodward could fook anything up.

You are going to be so disappointed

Saw that picture the other day, it could easily happen knowing Woodward.

Ryan57 24-08-2014 05:13 PM

£63.9 million fee then. About fooking time we spent in the same ball park as Barca and Real.

Exactly. I can't believe some Utd fans are moaning about the price LOL. To buy quality players you need to pay big amounts of money.

ADM will give us more pace and hopefully more ideas!

Tarryn 24-08-2014 05:51 PM

We should thank Cristiano, he advised Di Maria to go to us if he wanted to leave :worship:
ONLY Ed Woodward can screw this up now...............

Brother Leon 24-08-2014 07:32 PM

At least there is no chance Real Madrid are getting those Prem/Cl win bonuses  :p

Legend killer 24-08-2014 07:43 PM

Can I ask why you guys keep blaming Ed??? Granted last year was his fault HOWEVER this summer it's all on LVG with his pathetic " I need time to assess" rubbish. HOW MUCH ****ING TIME DO YOU NEED TO SEE we have no midfield and no defence and players like Ashley Tony Tom Chris and Darren should be nowhere near our first team

Being completely honest LVG has been a complete mess this summer.
Formation/Tactics have been beyond poor
Making Wayne captain

Signing Di Maria is a step in the right direction however let's not kid ourselves he is 20 mil overpriced and although will improve us going forward greatly he is a luxury buy in the sense there are two areas IN MUCH DIRE NEED of improvement

Legend killer 24-08-2014 07:44 PM

Also don't be expecting great immediate impact from Angel if we have the likes of Tom and Darren passing him the ball. As he will have to take on 5-6 players as they won't be playing advanced balls to find him in space and in 1vs1 situations

Is this the guy that gave the ball away over 50 times in one of the World cup matches?

It's the guy who almost single handedly(along with Ramos) won Real the CL Final.

GiRTh 24-08-2014 08:01 PM

22 goals in 124 appearances for Real. Is that all?

karl100589 24-08-2014 08:09 PM

I rate Di Maria as a player, but as I mentioned in the football thread it doesn't feel like a man united signing, the biggest selling point of Man United in the past was the way they would find the talented youngsters and through Fergies skill turn them into the finished article, meaning that Fergie seldom had to spend big money in the transfer market. It is very telling that post Fergie the club have gotten into this trend of quick fix 'brand name' signings, something which has been seen with Mata and Di Maria.

I don't doubt he's a great player, but he's a very un-Man U signing IMO.

Doesn't really answer my question, but I do believe it is that guy who gave the ball away over 50 times in one match.

Almost single handedly is not single handedly.

Is there a reason why Real Madrid are getting rid? teams usually try to keep their best players.

I can see him being a flop.

Because Real is forever in need of a new shiny toy. Nothing new. Their fan survey said 96% wanted him to stay over signif James Rodriquez.

MTVN 25-08-2014 07:56 AM

Massive overspend

Tarryn 25-08-2014 10:14 AM

So many have praised Di Maria as one of the best in the world until......................he is connected with Man U, then he is awful.
Pure jealousy. If Chelsea had signed him then everybody would be calling him a genius.
Di Maria is not being brought in for goals but to help RVP & Rooney get goals.
He had more assists than any other player in La Liga last season.
This is a statement signing by us. We can still attract the big names.
That's unless Deadwood screws it up...........

Looks like a panic buy to me and in the panic they've paid over the odds for him.

How is it a panic buy ?
We have been linked with him since before the World Cup.
His price tag was always going to be high.
Balotelli is a panic buy.

Ryan57 25-08-2014 11:02 AM

Fooking lol at panic buy. I'd gladly take 10 panic buys of Di Maria's quality.

Why are Real getting rid? They don't want to. He wants to leave. Besides, even if Real wanted rid how is that a bad thing? A Real reject generally isn't a bad thing. Robben can testify to that.

You don't want ten Di Maria's, you'd never be able to keep possession of the ball, not with all the times he gives it away.

Ryan57 25-08-2014 11:06 AM

Either you're on a WUM, or you're a fool.

Downplay Di Maria all you like. He's world class. Every team overpays nowadays.

Ryan57 25-08-2014 11:08 AM

Could you tell me who scored the winner in the game Di Maria gave the ball away 50 times? ...

Oh, it was Di Maria... Top players can have terrible games, yet score winners.

No doubt if Dithering Dave had signed Di Maria it'd be a different story.

Alf 25-08-2014 11:10 AM

Yes it was and a good finish too after good play by Messi, but that still doesn't take away that he gives the ball away far too much, he was just lucky the opposition on the day were not good enough.
