James and Pauline : So much in common.

It struck me recently just how similar James and Pauline are in their BB houses for a few reasons.

1. Both think they are the leader/house lecturer.

- They both have given themselves the role of 'house leader' and sadly, many people follow. Then when James/Pauline dislike certain HMs (usually those who won't accept their 'leadership'), they then 'tell' their target HM all about themselves and where they are 'going wrong' in a patronising way, doing it with a smug smile - belittling the HM, rather than actually 'helping' them as they claim.

2. Both have agendas behind their 'help'.

- James/Pauline both constantly announce and advertise themselves to the other HMs (and the viewing public) as this great wise helper of the house. "Well I tried to help Gary/Jale/Christopher etc but......." This is just a cheap way of raising their ego/status as the wise leader of the house- while at the same time - managing to belittle their target HM, wolf-in-sheep's clothing / smiling assassin style.

3. Both turn other HMs against their target HM

- They both say how much they tried to 'help' their target HM. But that's just a cover for the bitching that follows. This gives James/Pauline the illusion of innocence and makes it look ok to then go and bitch about their target HM as if they had no choice. "i tried my best to tell them but they didn't want to know so it must be THEIR fault'. They both do this with the other HMs, away from their target HM - thus getting everyone on side to their way of thinking against their target. They both also do this in a clever, casual and often humourous manner so it doesn't look like typical angry bitching.

4. Both James and Pauline have set the tone of negativity in their houses.

Straight away Pauline singled out Chris, Jale and Christopher and did all the above points. The lecturing, the 'wise angel act' and then turning the house against them. This completely set the tone of her house making it seem ok for everyone to dislike the same HMs. That's why Jale, Christopher and Chris all had a tough start to the series. That set the ball rolling for a moody series.

James has done the same with Gary. He lectured and belittled him, acted like the wise angel and has now successfully made everyone in there think it's fair game to pick on Gary.

And that's why last night's nominations were so brutal towards Gary, because James has set the tone of 'anti Gary' moodiness and most others (especially Steph and Ricci) are blindly following it with no remorse.

This is why mob mentality is so horrible. One person with a bee in their bonnet can turn a group against individuals. It brings out the worst in people as we saw last night.

Gary has faults, just like everyone in there. The huge difference is - they all constantly tell him about his - while HE has said nothing bad about any of them. Not even in the diary room.
