What has been the transsexual community's response to Audley's comments to Kellie?

Does anyone one know if they have spoken out on this matter?

musicfactorykels 29-08-2014 06:47 PM

To be honest i don't think Audley said anything "out of order" he just said what he felt "uncomfortable" in the bathroom,
And i don't blame him after working with her aka "Frank" for all them years as a boxing promoter.. I think Big brother was very wrong to pull Audley up on that!!! :nono:

If it's not acceptable for people in the house to express their feelings, then why should it be ok for people in the house to express their gender issues !!

I agree and I think the transsexual community will also hopefully see that but would not like to assume as they may see if very differently. I guess as a pre-op transexual you must feel very sensitive about rejection.

Transgenderism is not "gender issues", and suggesting trying to repress it is very disrespectful.

People should be able to express their feelings though....They can then be addressed and discussed. Not everyone will be comfortable immediately and surely the best way to deal with things is for Audley to be honest and then kellie can explain that this isn't a whim or choice but how she feels expresses who she is. Warning someone for being isn't IMO the best way to change someone's views and educate them.

Sorry but it clearly is an "issue" i understand where you are coming from as in someone wanting to be a different person rather than someone experimenting, but he/she has come into Big brother for reason ONLY!
which is a big deal for him/her, Big Brother alone is a big enough journey emotionally etc without coming to terms with who you really want to be aswell infront of thousands of tv viewers.

I'm just so tired of people being pulled up for saying this or saying that for god sake like why should everyone walk on egg shells incase they say something that offends someone who is clearly too vulnerable to be in the big brother house situation in the first place!

The response to Kellie on here is something like: If you are transgender, you better be nice and behave yourself and be nice and fluffy and safe....or else we will all start slagging off your appearance.

Kellie is just misery defined, though; there is no fun and games with her ever.

You're missing my point. Being a transgender is not an issue or bad, you shouldn't be saying such things.

I imagine the amount of bull**** the transgender community has to contend with from bigots on a day-to-day basis, Audley's quite innocent comments are so low down on the list they're touching on the floor.

Maybe there is no such thing as gender really all there is is peeing out of holes or fleshy tubes. By this I mean other than the obvious physical differences gender may all be psychological and learnt behavior. This is why Kellie sees herself as a woman in a mans body because gender is a state of mind.

No your missing my point.. did i say it was "bad" ?

It's people like you that blow up tiny little atoms into nuclear bombs, so stop twisting peoples comments.

I said it is clearly an "issue" for them to pull up Audley for expressing his feelings as if he has said something wrong, which in my opinion he has not / did not.

Why is it wrong if someone feels uncomfortable being around a trans?

I feel this matter is close to your heart for you to be so passionate about what i have said and in my opinion i have not said anything offensive ... but if you want to continue acting like a pleb then carry on i can't be bothered with people that just want to argue so tata.

I think technically sex is biological and gender is how you define yourself regardless of biology?
