TV watchdog Ofcom has rejected almost 4,000 complaints concerning Big Brother 2014.

TV watchdog Ofcom has rejected almost 4,000 complaints concerning Big Brother 2014.

A total of 3,820 complaints did not warrant investigation, the telly watchdog has decided.

They include 469 complaints over the result of the final, which saw Helen Wood triumph over Ashleigh Coyle.

Last month saw Channel 5 respond to the claims by releasing a statement denying numerous reports of a ‘fix’, insisting that Helen had won fair and square.

Ofcom also rejected other complaints that had accumulated over the series, including some 1,573 objections to perceived bullying and sexist comments from housemates Ash Harrison and Marlon Wallen.

Another specific incident which saw complaints was Helen and Danielle McMahon’s row early in the series which resulted in over 200 complaints when Helen snapped: “Stop s**gging Jesus you *******ing tramp.” These were also not upheld by Ofcom.

However one episode has resulted in an investigation, namely the highlights show that had aired on August 7.

The Ofcom did reject 12 complaints about this show but has decided some of the other complaints do warrant further investigation into whether or not not Ofcom’s Broadcasting Code has been breached.

22 complaints were made about spin-off shows Bit On The Side and Bit On The Psych, but these were all rejected “because they did not raise issues warranting investigation.”

Big Brother 2014: Most complained about episodes

16th June: 1,573 complaints
15th August (Final) 469 complaints
25th June: 382 complaints
13th June: 366 complaints
10th June: 208 complaints

Hopefully this discourages the oldies from complaining all the time.

That was one of the 'Power of Money' task episodes. The one when they were all given the fake dilemma of taking the money for themselves, and when Helen and co attacked Chris for saying yes. Then they went through the whole "we made a pact" thing, ignoring the fact Mark said yes to the money and instead cornering Chris.

Even though it was a heated episode and shown how deluded Helen and the rest of that group are I don't see why Ofcom would be investigating it.

I think Ofcom might investigate whether the money was ever intended. It was removed in the end for guessing which housemates wanted the money. Maybe that breaks some sort on intention to give out the money in the first place.

Amazed and delighted that Helen's rants at Danielle don't warrant investigation. :clap1:
