How would you define each survivor era?
Seasons 1 - 3 was the beginning era, the first 3 seasons is all about getting to know the game and what is happening. Turning point seems to be 4 were it fully seems to go into game mode.
Season 4 - 9 is we get the male villain era, 4 had Boston Rob, 5 had Brian, 6 had Rob, 7 had Fairplay, 8 had Boston Rob again and 9 had even though he was a underdog we had a some what villainous edit Chris. This was the era were we had these guys acting up to the cameras to out shine each other but make cocky remarks how they were the best players ever.
Seasons 10 - 14 I define as the nice but boring winners era. I certainly believe Danni, Aras and Earl are all under-rated winners, but lets be honest they were not the most exciting players, same goes for Yul.
Season 15 - 17 is the what the **** era, filled with some of the most random seasons and castaways ever, China brought us Courtney probably the most sarcastic castaway ever, while Micronesia had blindside after blindside, and Gabon is the biggest what the **** season ever.
19 - 27 - I define this era as the Russell Hantz era/Returnees era. With the exception of 21, 24 and maybe 25 this era was the Hantz season, not only in 3 season, his unstable nephew was in 2 seasons. This era also had so many seasons where they had returning players; 20, 22, 23, 25, 26 and 27 where it got boring because they kept bringing back third timers and forth timers. Also some of these returnees are questionable... I mean Francesca/Brandon Favourites? Rupert back for a 4th time?
28 - now - I define this era as back on track, according to reports season 30 is also all newbies so 3 seasons in a row have all newbies is a first since 17 - 19. Its great to watch again because there are no pre-game alliances of returning players and the cast seem to be genuine fans of the show and playing to win. Hopefully it will continue like this.
Of course this is just my view, what is your view?
