Social Experiment: Muslim Hate - What would you do?

I found this video very heart warming, I really expected at least one person to agree with the guy acting as the antagonist, but nobody did. :flutter:

It's really good that people stood up to that asshole :worship: I wonder if that happened every time.

Ninastar 07-10-2014 10:10 PM

isnt he muslin himself?

Kinda harsh to subject that little kid to that even though it was part of an experiment lol

The kid is probably not even Muslim and he was acting, he wouldn't have participated if it was too much for him.

armand.kay 07-10-2014 10:21 PM

Did the victims know that it was an experiment?

Yes, they were all actors.

armand.kay 07-10-2014 10:25 PM

I don't know whether it is because of the editing in this video, but when this experiment was done in America much more people just ignored what was going on and only a few spoke up.

I wonder what would have happened if the roles reversed to the country the women were from?

What makes you think that nobody born in Australia wears a hijab?

Where does it say that?

Yikes, this just took a sour turn.

It's clearly obvious and the guy making the video is Muslim himself, the experiment was conducted by students from Macquarie University.

Obviously the Islamophobic guy was an actor but I'm not convinced the victims were, looked up a couple of news articles about it and it doesn't say anywhere

joeysteele 07-10-2014 10:46 PM

The reactions of others were interesting in that all were hostile to the acting antagonist.

However his targets, whether actors or not, didn't fit the hostility he was showing against them.
Especially the younger boy.

Having said that, had he been on about the whole outfit covering all but the eyes,he may have got a different response from some had he toned the criticism down a little.

I am all for freedom for all individuals but I have said this before on here and do so again.
I do believe in light of the present situation as to terrorism, that every citizen and visitor to the UK should now have the right to be able to see clearly, at least the faces of those they are walking the streets with, going into Stores and other public places with and who they may have to deal with too in face to face situations.

Surely if the victims were all actors' some of them wouldn't have been blurred.
Whereas a couple were blurred, making it seem as though they weren't actors.

..I wonder if you can see the whole experiment because this seems like quite a limited example...they didn't just do these few..?...

Crimson Dynamo 08-10-2014 05:48 AM

If the guy had been a bit bigger and more threatening looking less folk would have spoke up. Because he looked like Mark from BB14 it was easy

Ammi 08-10-2014 05:53 AM

..I also think the 'targets' they spoke up for were 'non threatening'..it was interesting through it and thinking..well, he's not showing prejudice to an adult male..then he did with the last one but it was a guy with two small children/pushing a buggy..but it would have been interesting if he hadn't had the children and had been dressed differently...they surely couldn't have just done this with those few, it would have been interesting to see the entire experiment...
