NHS Strike 7AM 13/10/14

I hope no one dies today
because of the Crazy Strike

Feck me the Health Workers (Central London)
Live on BBC1 Breakfast

one just said we can not afford to live in London
he wants a Pay Rise.

I am Sorry
even with a Pay Rise
you still could not afford a home in London.

rubymoo 13-10-2014 07:48 AM

The strikes will do nothing....they never do!

Just raises the issue of their pay packet.

The world is all backwards when it comes to money, actors and actresses as well as footballers get millions, and people who save lives, risk their lives can't even afford a house in their desired location.....crazy!

But what will the next government do as soon as they get in......they get a payrise!

waterhog 13-10-2014 08:43 AM

everything is wrong - how can any mp preach when they are getting a 11% payrise and not 1% -

They are only out for 4 hours arista, I have a relative on strike for those 4 hours for the first time ever in their career but this Govt. will not and does not listen to them at all.

It is the unacceptable arrogance and unfairness of this Govt. pretending to care about the NHS and its staff, while not caring in the slightest, that has forced them to take some action and no one is putting lives at risk either,if any life threatening situation arose they would be there to deal with it,I am sure of that.

The NHS staff forced into this by the rotten actions of this Govt, should in my view get support not condemnation.
They really agonised over this decision but all their efforts to even get to talk as to the issues are just dismissed by this Govt.

Well,If they want to make a point,They need to show they mean business and not just a 4 hour strike. That won't change anything for them.

arista 13-10-2014 05:23 PM

Yes 4 Hours Joey

waste of time

Also there are no more funds

Thank God the Army are once again available to step in, despite being cut to two thirds of their strength, and despite some of our servicemen receiving their redundancies while they were on active service. Now they're picking up the slack for strikers. I am all for NHS workers being paid a fair wage but I will never agree with striking.

joeysteele 13-10-2014 07:17 PM

If the Govt implemented in full the independent recommendations as laid out in the suggested deal on pay across the NHS,then they wouldn't be on strike,or for that matter even see any need to be.

No point in Govts.having independent sources look at what pay rises are fair and then decide to throw it out with no negotiation or further discussion.
Plenty funds can be found to fund things like Libya and other things abroad but not to honour a recommendation for the NHS staff.

It is easy to say they should not strike but I would rather the Govt. ensure they never feel the need to and honour what is suggested to them to do as to NHS pay in the first place.

NHS staff are going to be needed possibly even more for a great deal more as to duties in the possible scenario of the ebola situation.
Rather than just bring the staff down for striking, I will and wish the Country would get at the Govt. whose arrogance and ignorance has brought them to this action in the first place.

For crying out loud, if they were allowed to, even the Police would have at some point likely gone on strike against some of the arrogance and harshness of this Govt.
The sooner these morons are voted out the better for me and for the NHS.
