Have you ever left the house though

Drew. 01-11-2014 02:45 PM

I am in Tescos as we speak looking for some monkey nuts

Kizzy 01-11-2014 02:45 PM

My son loves the raw ones I prefer roasted, redskin peanuts are the nicest.

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 01-11-2014 02:46 PM

Jessica. 01-11-2014 03:17 PM

I used to like them when I was a child, but now I just feel like they're tedious and boring.

Try roasting them in their shells on a tray in the oven and also boiling them in the shells in lightly salted water. Or just plain and still delicious.

How long would you roast them for? I used to soak soya nuts and roast them in the oven but you can see when they're done.

MTVN 01-11-2014 06:20 PM

Like Drew I have never heard of them in my life

Smithy 01-11-2014 06:22 PM

Yep

I do them on 350 for about 20 minutes Kizzy then take them out, shell them and sprinkle a bit of sea salt on them - delicious.

I've never tried soya nuts but have roasted most other types.

Let me know how you get on with the roast monkey nuts and if you enjoy them. :wavey:

I keep my cashew nuts loose in a clean hankie, then every time I get one out someone always says; "Bless you."

(if you don't get the joke meet me at midnight in the casbah and I'll explain it):hehe:

lily. 01-11-2014 11:10 PM

I love them, but I deliberately don't buy them because I make a pig of myself and eat the whole bag.

I don't get how people have never heard of them, they are everywhere in the stores and shops etc at Halloween and when we were trick or treating you would get a bag of goodies and a handful of monkey nuts
