Previous TV Journalists who have signed up for the reality television game show series include Jennie Bond and Jan Leeming.

Buerk is said to be jetting off on a 12-hour flight to Australia this weekend.

If the rumours prove true, he will be joining TV presenter Melanie Sykes, Olympic diver Tom Daley, TOWIE star Gemma Collins and rapper Tinchy Stryder.

Other high-profile names include former X factor judge Tulisa, Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher, magician Dynamo and footballer Robbie Savage.

Wrestling legend Hulk Hogan is also said to be participating, and Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher and boxer Ricky Hatton are the latest names to be added to the mix.
