Scariest driving conditions?

I'm pretty much fine in all weather... but today was the first time since I started driving (nearly 3 years ago) that I was actually really scared...

It was a country road and the fog was so thick i could hardly even see 3 feet in front of me! I had to put my fog lights on and it didnt help at all. Full beam actually made it worse, so i didnt even bother with that...

whats the scariest road conditions you've had to drive on?

Dark and pissing it down

I had to pick up my sister from school when it was snowing and they sent them home after they realised thy were stupid to try open. Lord knows why they were still open and Lord knows why she still went

Definitely fog  luckily every single lesson I've had so far has been light drizzle at worst, but I'd hate to drive in fog. I suppose icy roads would be a pain in the ass too.

Snow and ice. My car's quite low so when the snow gets pushed into a pile between people's wheels, the bottom on my car slides along on it. The country roads round me don't get gritted either. Nightmare...

I would have said ice up until last week when, like you I had to drive through some un lit country roads in a lot of bad fog, I literally couldn't see anything, I was terrified

I can just picture you slaloming about in a wee arse-roaster haha

Our roads don't get gritted here either.. the joys of being a country bumpkin..

This year I nearly died on my birthday due to a lorry being oblivious and nearly crushing us..
Oh and in 2010 when it was really icy, our car skidded in a circle and we were like 5" of nearly hitting a powerline. D:

heavy rain in the dark is the worst on roads with no lights

Today i drove a country road with a very steep hill along one side. It was torrential rain all morning and i was on full wipers. Big brown rivers were flowing off the hills onto the road. I went through 40 foot long flowing floods about 6 times making bow waves and struggling in second, it was bloody awful.

Pretty much standard for these parts mind

Definitely fog on a poorly lit road, and ice is bad too.

MTVN 14-11-2014 10:28 PM

Fog on country roads is really bad but at least you're not going to run into too many other cars I suppose, I hate driving on the motorway when it's dark and lashing it down. I'm not a great fan of driving at night at all tbh, there's something quite unsettling about cars just being reduced to a set of headlights
