Robbie Williams surprise-releasing a new album the same day Take That's is released

Robbie Williams has announced that he will release a new album next week, on the same day his former bandmates Take That release their latest record.

Williams announced the news of his surprise album to fans earlier today. Titled 'Under The Radar: Volume 1', it will be Williams' first album since 2013's 'Swings Both Ways'. Speaking to his supporters online, Williams admitted that those around him think he's a "lunatic" to release an album with no promotion.

"I'll let you into a secret, Guy Chambers isn't happy with me putting these songs on this album," Williams says in the video, which can be seen below. "He thinks I'm a lunatic for not putting them on an album that we've promoted with TV performances and at radio stations and a big tour. But I'm an impetuous bugger, and I want them out now, now, now!"

Take That's new album 'III' is also released on December 1. 'III' was recorded with producers including Greg Kurstin (Lana Del Rey, Lykke Li, Katy Perry), John Shanks (Take That), Stuart Price (Madonna, The Killers) and Jeff Lynne of the band ELO, with work largely taking place at the band’s own studios and London's Abbey Road Studios.
Who'll get #1 then?

Take That would destroy pretty much anyone apart from One Direction and maybe Ed Sheeran, I think

Take That are awful so I'd rather Robbie 'take the crown' (ha)

Marsh. 28-11-2014 07:56 PM

Take That win for "These Days" alone. :idc:

It's telling how the ones you picked are 14 years old. :smug:

Liam- 28-11-2014 08:01 PM

Candy is better than the majority of Take That's stuff and it's beyond awful

What, telling that I think that Robbie's best two songs are better than anything Take That has released?

This thread is about their new material being released 2014. Robbie hasn't done anything worth listening to since the late 90s. :smug:

Liam- 28-11-2014 08:03 PM

Actually thinking about it, Robbie has some pretty decent songs
