How about Dads are they busy shoppers? Sexist :nono:

they can still put all the dolls and s**t in the one aisle Arista, there is no need to have things labelled for boys or for girls though

Ninastar 01-12-2014 02:35 PM

girls and boys will always be different. always.

now that's not to say that they shouldn't be allowed to play with each others toys. Thats not what im saying at all. I think its a good thing for kids to play with any type of toys. but this whole 'BOYS TOYS?? OUTRAGEOUS!!!! GIRLS PLAY WITH THEM TOO!!!!' argument is so bloody pathetic.

Boys and girls think differently. They have different brains. There will always be a slight divide in what toys children are interested in.

there are way way more damaging things for children in society, than labelling things 'boys' or 'girls'

Do you think moms or dads might accidently buy little johnny a doll if its not clearly labelled "For Girls" on it? :hehe:

JoshBB 01-12-2014 03:04 PM

Toys are toys, we really don't need to assign gender to them tbh. If a boy wants to play with a barbie doll, let him, the same if a girl wants to play with a toy soldier, let her. it's 2014 for gods sake.

it's not really an argument so much as wishing unnecessary and pretty useless labels to go away? I mean basically what it all boils down to is shaming kids of either gender into avoiding toys of the other's for fear of being seen as a gay boy or a tomboy

:clap2:

Exactly, there is no need to put For Boys on a toy at all, yeah maybe more boys will end up playing with that toy but what is the need to put a note on it saying that its a Boys Toy and vice versa, it doesn't achieve anything, it's not like parents would be totally confused about which toys to buy their kids if those labels weren't there

Thing is though, this rarely ever happens now...

Most children don't give a crap.

There will always be different insults used, no matter what rules are made. There will always be a different preference for a toy with each gender, and nothing can ever be done.

Children pick on things for being 'different' not because it's 'gay boy' or 'tom boy', w.e

If you get rid of 'girls toys' or 'boys toys', they will always find a different way to insult each other.
