Crimson Dynamo 02-12-2014 11:21 AM

haha he was rinsed by that plucky reporter for the champagne socialist that he is

MTVN 02-12-2014 11:39 AM

Shame that woman had to come along and give his inflated ego another boost at the end

Russell :worship:

Shaun 02-12-2014 12:15 PM

whilst the whole "he's being attacked by the media because they're owned by the elite like the government!!" angle is a little bit conspiracy-theory, it's interesting how little voice is actually given to the working class and yet anyone who's emerged from it to some level of success (and, therefore, voice) is immediately trampled upon as a champagne socialist.

socialism is idealistic and not suited to greedy humans who are interested in self

plus he is a twat but at least he is a hammer

Locke. 02-12-2014 12:21 PM

I expect to see images of him dragging Cameron out of that door in the headlock by this evening.

I agree with that woman though, regardless of how Russell himself lives at least he is speaking up for the lower class.

Russel was 100% right the reporter was only interested is twisting the issue to taint public perception, he is snide.
Shame it seem to be working too which is as pathetic as it is tragic.

Oh I dare arista.

He should stick to the case in discussion and that is the injustice surrounding social cleansing in the capital... Not Mr Brands living arrangements.
He is assisting those who need help as local MPs are meant to do, funnily nobody ever interrogates them about their 2nd and 3rd homes do they? :/

GiRTh 02-12-2014 07:05 PM

The journo definitely had an agenda. Its not journalism at all when they slant the issue like this. Good one Russell for standing up to him

Now he is on the the biggest selling paper

arista 03-12-2014 01:02 AM

[ He was asked: “Part of the problem is the super-rich buying property
in London, isn’t it? What kind of rent are you paying?”
Brand, worth an estimated £15million, said angrily:
“I’m not interested in talking to you about my rent, mate. You’re a snide.”
The comedian claims wealthy tax-avoiding property developers drive up London house prices and rents.
But he rents his London home — which has three bedrooms, two bathrooms
and a roof terrace with views across the capital — from off-shore company KKY PTY Ltd. ]

But that must be true of most MPs also, what is the point here... Do you have to live in a cardboard box to be able to speak for others now?

Not the sun pushing a tory agenda ...pffft.

No do not be silly
This is Brand not able to answer
a question.
His Anger at that Irish Reporter,
who worked for BBC London,
and now works at Ch4HD News
is his problem.

If Brand has anger at MP's - thats good
but a reporter - then it back fires.

It was an irrelevant question though...
what a waste of an interview to answer questions based on his house, that isn't the issue is it?
How is MP Richard Benyons conflict of interest and profiteering isn't the issue here?

smudgie 03-12-2014 09:58 AM

So if we all live in our cosy homes, but protest on the side of those less fortunate we are hypocrites.
Rather pathetic really.
He could have reacted better to the answer, but at least he has got off his backside and got out there protesting.

Typical isn't it when somebody tries to stand up for their fellow human and starts asking awkward questions, they suddenly find themselves the victim of ridiculous press stories like this.

So the Man is successful, so what.....he has a moral conscience and wants to speak out against the establishment, Good.

So only poor people can speak out against poverty, a successful , wealthly comedian/Film actor should just shut up and keep taking the money whilst joining the elites.

Good on Russell Brand for wanting to highlight some of these issues.

I doesn't matter where Russell lives imo he's out there giving the working class a massive platform to fight for their cause.

Should he move onto a council estate?

Yes it does not matter
but if a Reporter asks a Question
no need to attack him.
Just Answer it
then get back to his main
point on the American
company taker over the homes

arista 03-12-2014 03:43 PM

JSP on Loose Women (ITV1HD today)
said the Reporter had Every Right to ask that Question.

Crimson Dynamo 03-12-2014 04:40 PM

Brand has been busted

The company taking over the houses is just trying to make money just like Brand does with his comedy

totally busted for the fraud he is

JoshBB 03-12-2014 04:44 PM

It's the ****ing sun arista! They twist everything anyway, don't listen to their lies.

When Russell Brand was poor, he was accused of only supporting socialism to benefit himself. Now that he has more money, he's always told "oh, but this doesn't affect you!"..

No Lies

And Brand could have said it to the Reporter
who has so many Backing him
