Gum Tree Are the sponsors of CBB

And there looking for your old **** to put into the house.

Quote:

Starting in January, we’re sponsoring Celebrity Big Brother on Channel 5. And to kick things off in style, we’re offering you the chance to help furnish the Big Brother house using Gumtree.

From the 3rd – 10th December, whenever you post an ad in our For Sale category, you’ll be asked if you’d like the chance to ‘Sell your item to Big Brother’. If you think that’d be something you would consider doing, then tick YES. (All the usual Gumtree rules apply, naturally, like being 18 and being a UK resident.)

During that period, the production team at Big Brother will be searching the site for great items to put into the House they are building for this year’s celebrities. When they find an item they like, they will reply as normal on Gumtree; by phone, email or SMS message, all depending on the details you provide. If you are contacted by the team, they’ll give you 24 hours to do a deal where you’ll need to agree the price, ways and means that you guys can do the deal. Sellers will be expected to deliver their items in person to the offices of Channel 5 in London on the weekdays between the 4th and 12th of December. It’ll also have to be during their office hours of 9am – 6pm.

When you meet up, the Big Brother production team will check your item (and check that it’s really you), to make sure that the item is just as you described it. If they like it (and they’re offering no guarantees), they’ll pay you in cash if they choose to buy the item.

It’s up to the Executive Producers to make all the final decisions on all items entering the house, and they’ve told us that even if your item is bought, they can’t guarantee it will feature in the programme. Also, if you’re late, or if the item is damaged, then unfortunately you’ll miss out.

But even if your item is not selected by the Big Brother team, remember, because this is just like any normal transaction on Gumtree – you can also sell to anyone else who contacts you.

If you have any questions or doubts, just contact us on twitter @gumtree, or reply in the box below.

And to post your own ad, simply click here: https://my.gumtree.com/postad

Thanks

The Gumtree team

(P.S. Employees and their immediate families of eBay International AG, Gumtree.com Limited, Endemol, Channel 5 and Viacom Group companies are excluded from offering goods for sale in this promotion – sorry, mum!)

Tell you what... interesting that an ACTUAL company is taking interest in BB apart from spot cream/ casinos...

Like when it was sponsored by broadband companies

Jamesy 03-12-2014 04:12 PM

To be fair at least the sponsor is doing something interesting and this engages people who use Gumtree.

Jarrod 03-12-2014 05:37 PM

Hopefully they continue in the summer. Plusnet were a good sponsor for Celebrity Big Brother 2012 and it was a shame when they didn't continue for the summer series.

No more annoying Super Casino slags? :amazed:

That's good enough for me. :flutter:

This year will see fans able to help furnish the Celebrity Big Brother 2015 house – and here’s how to get involved.

The new twist is all part of a new sponsorship deal between Celebrity Big Brother and Gumtree.

Big Brother will be using the website to help finish off the new look house and you can sell your item to appear on the show.

All you need to do is post an ad for the item in Gumtree’s For Sale category this week and you’ll be invited to sell it to BB.

If he likes it then it could go inside the house with the new batch of celebs next month.

Gumtree is also offering the chance to win two VIP tickets to the first CBB eviction next year on January 9.

To be in with shot, you need to write a blog post explaining why you enjoy using Gumtree, what item you’d sell to the show, why you originally bought it and why you think Big Brother should choose it to furnish the house.

Eligible items can be pretty much anything from sofas and chairs to mugs and mirrors.

For all of the information you need, read more on the Gumtree blog HERE!

This sounds like really good news

JohnnyBB 03-12-2014 06:43 PM

I think there really buzzing about being big brother sponsors there doing lots of tweets about it!

emmetmcl 03-12-2014 08:01 PM

Realistically, they'll not put anyone's stuff in the house; the real win here is that when anyone posts an ad they're told about Big Brother.

That in itself is amazing.
