I would breast feed in public but obviously I'd ask the woman for permission first.

I am male so it would be an impossibility for me to do so, however yesterday I talked to a lot of the female members of my family and every single one said no they would not.
They would ensure the baby was fed before they went anywhere and if the need arose to feed they would return home as quickly as possible or ask somewhere if there was a room or private space they could use to do so. One said she was in town and the baby was crying a lot so she wanted to try to feed him, she went into the Library and they let her in to a back room to feed the baby. She didn't feel at a disadvantage at all and was far more happy and relaxed to be able to do so in 'private'. |
if you feel awkward at seeing a woman feed a baby the fault is Y O U R S
we should not pander to ridiculous Victorian morality |
Yes I have, and yes I would. I've yet to hear a credible reason why someone would object so vehemently to it.

I certainly would....(I was unable to breast feed so it wasn't an issue for me). I do think that some people seem to think that a breast feeding woman whips em out for all to see. When in fact you would in all probability walk past a nursing mother and have no idea she was feeding. |
Absa-Frigin-lutely!!

I don't object to it myself however if I had taken someone out to a Restaurant for a meal, especially in Claridges, then had a baby crying and then clearly being fed.
While I wouldn't object in any way, I would firstly think it an inappropriate place for the baby to be anyway so near a feeding time. My Mum said she always had her babies to as near a set feeding time as she could and in the main it worked. For me, it is a natural thing to do obviously and it looks a really loving moment too but would I want to see it everywhere I go, I doubt that. I still say. she could have asked if there was a private area she could go to to feed the baby. If it is expected others are considerate to babies being fed if there is no private area then surely it is as fair to consider the feelings others may have as to the issue in a public place too. Mind you, the people coughing, spluttering and blowing their noses in a Restauarant are the ones who would annoy me,whereas a Mother feeding her baby,if I saw it would likely get a mushy aah from me. |

No.
It would be like feeding time at the zoo. Most young teens I know would end up blushing just knowing what was going on, never mind actually seeing it. Is very personal and bonding between mother and baby...no need for an audience. |

You cant respect a stupid backward morality. Babies and feeding come way way before some faux sexual embarrassment

If I had a vag and a baby I probably wouldn't feed in public. People would stare at you and I wouldn't want to have people gawping at me.
That said it doesn't bother me if I see people breast feed in public. As long as it isn't being done in my face I don't see the problem. |
