It certainly won't get the coverage that some non stories get. Poor kids.

Kazanne 16-12-2014 09:30 AM

I would have thought it would have been serious enough to have the wall to wall coverage that the Australian siege had , sad sign of the times.

The BBC are doing a rolling news feed: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/world-asia-30491113

But yes it is true that in a country where terror attacks are a very real, likely even, threat every day it's not going to have the same shock value as when an attack disrupts our cosy western homes. RIP to those killed.

Niamh. 16-12-2014 09:47 AM

Jesus that's horrific and you're right, can you imagine if that happened in a western country? Point proven really how this thread has been open for over half an hour and has only a few replies where as that thread on the Sydney thing has had hundreds

Vanessa 16-12-2014 09:49 AM

Omg those poor little souls! :bawling:

I was thinking the same Niamh(about the thread) all hell would have let loose if that had happened here, all that loss of life and young life and people don't seem to care.I'm ashamed really.

Scarlett. 16-12-2014 10:31 AM

Sad news

mizzy25 16-12-2014 10:45 AM

what the hell is wrong with these people? I mean why???

MTVN 16-12-2014 10:50 AM

Looks like the attack could serve as a gamechanger in purging Taliban sympathies from politics and the army:

Quote:

This attack is a retaliation against the Pakistan army. For the last few months the Pakistan army has intensified its offensive in tribal areas against the Pakistan Taliban and now the Pakistan Taliban has given its response. For years politicians have hesitated to back the army campaign against the Pakistan Taliban, but this attack might change that. Within hours of the attack Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif gave an uncharacteristically clear statement against the attackers. And the opposition leader Imran Khan called off a lockdown he had planned for the 18 December. It may be that by killing too many children, the Pakistan Taliban has managed to unite the politicians and the army.

Niamh. 16-12-2014 11:08 AM

Well lets hope something good will happen because of this tragedy atleast ^

Nedusa 16-12-2014 11:40 AM

The problem for major News networks is that attacks like this happen almost weekly in these areas of Pakistan so to give one of these stories major News coverage would necessitate giving the same coverage for all of them and if that happened no other news would have time to be reported just attacks/explosions/death/suicide bombers/Taliban in Pakistan.

Shame as it cheapens the terrible loss of life and plays down the sheer scale and frequency of these attacks.

It certainly smacks of "double standards", inferring that loss of life is not newsworthy if it's Pakistan.

Sheer mind-numbingly horrific. I have stated in many lengthy posts my view that these terrorists are purely evil, not human, and need totally eradicating to a man. How can I be wrong?

No human being would slaughter poor innocent, defenseless children like this.

I hope with all my heart and soul that this is the catalyst which shock the Pakistani nation out of their complacency, and that grief for the victims and their families will turn to anger against the perpetrators. Then might we see a deep cleansing of their police, security and armed forces - even the government itself - of their many terrorist sympathisers, and a new resolve to wipe out the terrorists themselves.

I pray for these poor children and their families.

Yes Thats why my thread had the Correct Title

Pakistan : Terrorist Taliban Kill 126 In School Raid

LT's title

Creggle 16-12-2014 01:29 PM

How on Earth can somebody shoot a child? Surely there is that 'wow this is so so wrong' thought going through their minds before they pull the trigger... I don't care how far gone you are in the head, nobody can do this and sleep at night

Not surprised these spineless cowards target such defenseless people though, can we please just have a mass exodus of our troops back to the middle east and kill everyone of these worthless stnuc? 90% of our troops and America's on a full offense there is no fighting that, stick the rest on our streets, get China and Russia involved, throw in some mercs for overkill....

To be honest the thread was not so much about the incident as to how something like this plays out media wise against the Sydney thing

The hierarchy of death as it were

Livia 16-12-2014 02:58 PM

So... how much longer do these disgusting excuses for human beings get the same rights and privileges as decent people? The security services know who they are, they know where most of them are and those they don't, they know where their families are. Time to start rounding them up.

Dollface 16-12-2014 03:27 PM

Those poor children :(

It's one thing for those evil creatures to murder adults, but to target innocent children is utterly disgusting

arista 16-12-2014 04:41 PM

The Taliban say the Pakistan Army
has killed their children

So its Revenge
