Brian Harvey

He is the perfect candidate to show up this year btw, he has went a bit unwell in the head lately, has money problems, has had troubles in the past AND his ex has been rumoured (Daniella Westbrook)

Denver 17-12-2014 07:53 AM

.

People with mental health issues have the right to do whatever they choose and should not have to be seen as poor victims who don't have the same rights as the average Joe or be judged because they suffer for something that's out of their control.

I think he would be a brilliant housemate :)

I don't see how someone having a mental breakdown on tv, is entertainment.

And who said it was?

People with mental health issues can still live normal lives without constantly having breakdowns or being eratic or in misery.

Seriously look at Nikkis past yet she is one of the most entertaining housemates of all time.

Tut tut for being so judgemental.

Thank fook someone speaks sense. Getting pleasure from watching someone who obviously needs care, making a tit of themselves or having a mental breakdown on tv, just for entertainment, is not only wrong, its friggin sick.

Obviously this isn't aimed at me though since I have said nothing of the sort.

True

I love how people jump straight to thinking someone with a mental illness is going to be some kind of a trainwreck.. there's loads of different kinds of mental illnesses and different ways people deal with them.. I've suffered from depression before as alot of people have, does that mean i'm going to go on big brother and have a mental breakdown... ehm nope

these people with selective reading :nono::conf:

goldensun 25-12-2014 03:48 PM

He looked ok in the Christmas vid they keep playing over and over...

in his white , teddybear suit and hood !

Its a sad indictment of our times that some people cant watch a show without seeing someone spilling their guts on air. The show used to be about fun, games, tasks, conflict and was judged on popularity, hilarity and the odd poo pah created by people we know from the celebrity gene pool making tits of themselves. These days some people cant seem to enjoy the show unless its full of breakdowns, sex, nudity, debauchery and disgusting acts of depravity.

I for one hope they leave these reality underachievers and deliberately nasty and financially desperate has-beens out for once and let us see some real life celebrities that make us laugh and gasp for all the right reasons. Watching junkies, prostitutes, talent vacuums and deliberately nasty idiots isn't my idea of fun.

I love the show but like many we live in hope that one day, it might return to its original format and give us something funny to watch.

And people with a mental illness would prefer others not to discriminate against them but looks like that's not happening.

Well they have a psychological test if he passes, yes, if he fails, no he shouldn't go in. Tbh, though hes less than a hasbeen, he was a typical hasbeen 10 years ago he's even below cbb standards i dont know what you call him these days.

ditto... it's not big brother then is it? It's distasteful exploitation.

That's outright discrimination against anyone that suffers from mental health issues which includes things such as depression btw and I would hazard a guess that most celebs that have entered BB have suffered with that at some point in their careers.

I would imagine that no one in this thread would like to see someone that is having a breakdown or similar but having a mental illness DOES NOT mean the same thing, the comments in this thread are disgusting.

And anyway, no one even knows if Brian Harvey does have any mental health issues atm it's all just speculation.

But Kizzy
it s normal in Show Business

I cant believe what I am reading on here....A disabled person that has confirmed and proven issues should not be allowed to go on a program like this as it is most definitely not going to help them and if there are people that think this is right then god forbid.

If, However, he or she has a normal life style but is prone to outbursts or delusional issues, then this is different as they are not disabled, they are merely unstable and the onus to protect them falls squarely on the shoulders of BB and their psyc team.

I am registered disabled but in a physical way, my wife is disabled in a mental capacity and there are 2 different ways to look at our disability. I would be able to handle the house but my wife wouldn't. There are different types of disability. I think I am right in saying White Dee was registered disabled as she was on disability benefit (EXCUSES IF I AM WRONG BUT THATS WHAT I READ) and she handled the house quite easily.

There is a world of difference between a mental disability and a physical disability and the issues we seem to be discussing look like they sit in the mental disability camp so that being the case, that person should not be allowed to go in and provide the public with entertainment, that's just plain wrong and anyone that feels its right needs to question their own morals.

People need to think before they speak because opinions based on supposition are not only misleading but are hard to read especially when someone like me lives with this on a daily basis.
