Is this acceptable?
So I was at a shopping center the other day for some last minute christmas shopping, and there was a preacher going around shouting about the bible and God and all things of the sort. Then I saw him go up to a man who was smoking (it was outside well away from the buildings) and shout - "PUT AWAY THE CIGARETTES! THEY ARE A SIN TO GOD!" (not that I've heard cigs mentioned in the bible..)
He literally started shouting in his face until he put it out and went off somewhere else, where the guy started following him after being told to go away and telling him how to repent and ****. I laughed at the time because I forgot people like this still existed but upon reflection I think it's quite bad what he did actually and maybe borderline harassment. What is your opinions? Was it okay for him to do what he did? |
OMG, this reminds me of a time when I was shopping in durham and a woman preaching the bible literally chased me up the street telling me I was going to hell :joker:
I think its wrong, but I found it quite funny. Obviously someone who was a bit more nervous than me or something would have been terrified D: |
No it wasn't, there are always going to be erm... eccentrics though :/
|
The man was clearly deranged and should have been sectioned.

lmao these preachers are horrific
I remember when there was some guy preaching about homosexuality in town a year or so and he was proper ranting and I was just like 'I LOVE COCK' and he was like 'YOU SHALL BURN' but it was like -5 out </3 |
I'd be incredibly annoyed if I were smoking a cigarette and someone came up to me shouting in my face. He had no right to do that, it's plain rudeness.
Although this kind of reminds me of Reading 2012. We'd just made our way out of camp and layed around in a car park as we waiting for our lift, when a woman came over and gave us pamphlets about Christianity and spoke to us about how she found god. :joker: Her husband ended up joining us and we had a discussion about the topic for a good 45 minutes. I tried not to laugh because it was just so surreal. I was tired and worn out after camping for 3 days and these two random people were talking to us about god in a car park. They were very lovely though. I have no problem with people preaching, as long as they're not obnoxious about it. |

Completely acceptable. You should all learn a lesson or two.

It's about as acceptable as Muslims stopping women in the street in Whitechapel and berating them for showing too much flesh, drinking alcohol or being gay - ie: totally unacceptable.

Footnote: I think Marsh is 'winding' and not serious. :hehe: |
No it wasn't acceptable.
Its past time people starting minding their own business and having a good look at their own problems before trying to tell other people what to do. |

It probably was Morsh
I know he "street preaches" now his ban has been lifted in England but he cannot berate people in Ireland or Scotland until 2017. 10 years ago he lost 2 teeth when ranting about glass-blowing in St Helens when a passer bye thought he said "ass ploughing" and lamped him one. |
:joker:
|
the last person to shout at me was a police sergeant saying get off the phone,
I shouted back, go and **** yourself. preacher man would get the same treatment. |

Of course it's harassment, but isn't that what devout Christians and Muslims do best?
