X FACTOR hopeful Ben Mills is struggling to sleep — because he keeps having nightmares about Simon Cowell.

The 26-year-old rocker also claims his pre-show nerves are so bad they are making him ILL.

Ben admitted: “I have been having very strange dreams about being on stage and I dream about Simon. When the nerves strike I feel ill and can’t sleep. It’s thinking about the cameras that scares me.”

On the right we’ve shown how Simon might appear in Ben’s dreams - as Freddy Krueger in A Nightmare On Elm Street.

Ben admitted there was one nightmare he did not want to revisit — his former life as a cocaine-addicted pub rocker. He vowed: “Drugs were a part of my past.

“I didn’t go through hell to get caught up in it all again.”

The rocker told how he nearly blew his chance after rowing with Simon over his choice of song. Simon picked Kelly Clarkson’s female-friendly ballad A Moment Like This — fuelling rumours that producers want Leona Lewis, 21, to win.

Ben said claims he and Leona weren’t talking to each other were “complete nonsense”. He said: “I had my reservations about the song but Simon told me to try a few versions and I found one I liked so I’m happy.”
