First Asian mayor of Gloucester joins UKIP

A former Mayor of Gloucester and Sikh immigrant has defected from Labour to UKIP.

59-year-old Harjit Gill moved from India to the UK in the seventies for an arranged marriage.

He works as a Postmaster and became Gloucester's first Asian mayor in 2007.

Every single day more defections to UKIP are reported - but they're only the 'notables', the swathes of 'ordinary' defectors who are joining go unreported.

This is a tide which will not turn.

An arranged marriage? oh for ****s sake. Shame on labour for not doing a background check, and shame on UKIP for the same. They're still racist though. All they're doing is bringing in some foreign politicians to make them look less racist - the BNP has done it.
