They will never win. I'm sure they will kill a few people in the UK and I'm sure there may be explosions/bombs etc, but they will never win. I wouldn't be surprised if there was another war within the next 10 years. We pulled out too soon and look what is happening. |
10 years and 1000 lashes? That is just madness
Poor bloke |

This story highlights the glaring differences between the UK and Saudi Arabla with respect to religious intelorance and freedom of speech.
Anybody can criticise our political and religious leaders, our form of govt and our religious doctrines. Rightly or wrongly everyone has the right to have their voice heard without fear of violent repercussions from the state. We have seen this before in middle eastern theocracies where anyone who dares to question the status quo can be violently punished and imprisoned for years. But in the west all criticisms are voiced and debated and if they carry any substance then a wider debate can be started. That is the nature of free speech , that is the nature of democracy. Yet in Saudi Arabia people are trapped in the equivalent of a fascist police state where one wrong word or comment can lead to savage consequences. Someone once said what is the time diff between London and Riyadh, I think the answer is about 500 years. . |

Yet the form of Islam practised mostly in the Saudi Arabian peninsula is Wahhabism which is so extreme even the Taliban are considered more liberal. This form of Islam is the most repressive imaginable and has resulted in many of the worst terrorists coming from that country, responsible for 911 amongst others. This oppressive regime in my view should be called out for its disgusting and perverted human rights abuses especially to women. And the hypocrisy from the UK govt in being friendly with this country actually makes me want to puke. . |
