BIG BROTHER 2015: Revamp [UPDATE: DIARY ROOM CHAIR - PROJECT COMPLETE]

Welcome to this new project of mine. Big Brother has had a long line of "eye logos" since 2001, but never anything that could be used on a longer period of time without getting old. In this project it is all new. The logo and the show will be refreshed and the House has move location from Elstree to a completely new compound.

While the eye will still be used, the logo is refreshed and the middle of the eye will be the focus.

Big Brother Logo:

Title Card:

Alongside Big Brother are brand new shows, with the logos revealed alongside their respective studios. Enjoy!

It's really good but very similar to a project conor did in 2009.

Ah, I see. Granted the logo looks very similar but hopefully the stuff I've done will be completely unique. The idea came about by looking at Big Brother Australia. Remember their 2003/4 themed titles and the Channel 10 logo? That's where it's come from.

It also came around because this would be extremely flexible for Channel 5 to use for branding when it comes to their logo. But of course, I'm not doubting that it looks similar because it really does. Hopefully what comes next will be unique and everything will be up to a high standard.

Wow jarrod that's a very good take on what the logo could be like if they didn't use the eye logo :)

There will be a complete project here, with the House, Graphics, Studios...

This would be a good TiBB series with like BBBots being where forum members talk about the housemates and stuff.

Jøsh 11-01-2015 05:19 PM

Are you able to do a full title sequence by any chance?

Lovely, some great work, can't wait to see more!

Good start though like Sam I was reminded of Conor's logo. It's no surprise though people get similar ideas around here.

Only thing I don't like is the Celebrity logo - don't get why it effectively includes the old logo as part of the design. It certainly doesn't benefit from it.

Thank you!

Yeah, I understand what you mean and I appreciate your feedback! I'll go back and try a tweaked design. I'll see what I can come up with.

Update time! Here is how I would schedule Big Brother...

Big Brother: Highlights Show
Monday – Friday, Sunday at 9pm on Channel 5

Channel 5 airs a nightly highlights show which show the past 24 hours inside the Big Brother House. I suggest that this change to a Monday – Friday and Sunday event, meaning that there would be no episode of Big Brother on Saturday. The highlights on Monday – Thursday would air as a regular 60 minute episode. On Friday, the highlights are placed in the eviction show (More details of which are below). The highlights would be as stripped back as possible and show the key moments that viewers must see to understand the Housemates development. There will be limited narration from Marcus Bentley.

On Sunday, the highlights show would be extended to 90 minutes and give highlights from Friday and Saturday in the House – which could potentially be a ratings booster as Friday and Saturday tend to be eventful days in the House. The show would also air in a fixed slot throughout its run. This would be 9pm on Channel 5, bringing the show centre of the prime time schedule for the channel.

Big Brother: Live Eviction
Friday at 9pm and 10:30pm on Channel 5

Big Brother's live evictions need to be one of the big events of the week in television. Emma Willis will return to host the live shows of Big Brother. Instead of having a 90 minute show, I suggest that Channel 5 break up the show into two parts. One 60 minute show at 9pm and a shorter 45 minute show at 10:30pm. The first show will include the eviction result, eviction reactions from the House and highlights from Thursday. The second show would include the eviction and the interview with the evicted Housemate.

Emma Willis would return as the main host of Big Brother. I also suggest stripping back the eviction shows. Instead of hosting the entire live show outside with a large crowd, bring the first show indoors with just Emma and a small studio audience, and making the eviction announcements inside. The second show would be hosted outside the Big Brother House.

Big Brother: Housemates Unlocked
Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 10pm on Channel 5
Instead of having a nightly edition of Big Brother's Bit on the Side, I suggest cutting back the show and renaming it to Housemates Unlocked. The show will only air three nights a week for 60 minutes– mainly after key events in the House, nominations, shopping tasks and the evictions. This show will have a very small studio audience, celebrity guests and psychological analysis from professionals.

Big Brother: Live From The House
Nightly at 11pm on Channel 5

Instead of a nightly spin-off, I suggest including episodes of live streaming from the House in the regular schedule. The episodes on Monday – Thursday and Sunday would last for 60 minutes, the episode on Friday for 75 minutes , and Saturday 30 minutes.

Big Brother: Revealed
Daily at 6pm on Channel 5
I suggest that to compensate for the loss of Big Brother's Bit on the Side, Channel 5 produce a daily 30 minute programme that is just one presenter and no audience, informing viewers of the biggest stories from the House.

Big Brother: Online

Big Brother's Bit on the Web

Daily 15 minute segments on the Big Brother Website

As we are losing Bit on the Side, again another segment of the programme will be taken and moved online. The digital part of BOTS with viewers reactions and phone-ins will be moved and will feature all the latest reactions about what has happened in the House, viewers phoning in, and a special celebrity guest to tell --- what they think of the events.

Big Brother: Diary Room Uncut
Sunday on the Big Brother Website

A special 15 minute show every Sunday which will show the best unseen bits from the Big Brother Diary Room.

Little bump.

Liking that Jarrod - sensible scheduling and I've always felt the low rated Saturday show (half of which seems to recap the eviction) would work better incorporated into a longer Sunday show. 90 minutes wouldn't be a problem for a regular show - I'm a Celeb do it regularly and the ratings for BOTS show that a good chunk of the C5 audience is willing to stick around more than an hour.

Also for all the good BB5 did to the BBUK franchise one thing it really did mess up was the evictions. From BB1-4 the crowd was never on site until the second show, and didn't need to be either. I've always said the eviction shows were much better when it was Davina talking directly to the viewer at home rather than trying to entertain the baying mob, and things like properly chatting with the friends and family, going into the camera runs and even into the house itself (e.g. into bedrooms while HMs were locked in the living area) just made the eviction show an actual "eviction show".

Thank you Brekkie! I'm glad you agree with my scheduling. With the eviction crowds, they would be brought into the compound during the half an hour break between shows and then the exterior used. Before that, the interior studio would be used. This works too because I have a new stage added to the exterior where interviews can take place.

Alongside the new compound and location, Emma and Rylan return to the show as presenters of Big Brother, Big Brother: Housemates Unlocked and Big Brother: Revealed.

Emma Willis returns as the main host of Big Brother. She will be hosting the main live Big Brother shows, the Monday and Wednesday editions of Big Brother: Housemates Unlocked as well as Big Brother's Bit on the Web.

Rylan Clark also returns alongside Emma. Rylan will be presenting the Friday edition of Housemates Unlocked, also he will be hosting Big Brother: Revealed on Monday and Friday. He will also be hosting Diary Room Uncut.

There will be a new presenter joining Rylan to co-present the Friday edition of Housemates Unlocked, and the Tuesday-Thursday editions of Big Brother: Revealed.

I really like the presenter pics but I'm confused, there's like 6 spin off shows?

The New Compound

I decided that for this project, I wanted to challenge myself and move away from the Elstree compound, and complete my own unique compound.

http://i1103.photobucket.com/albums/.../HOUSETEMP.jpg

This compound allows the House to be expanded and have larger rooms, new rooms and hidden spaces. The show isn't as restricted like at Elstree.

Jøsh 21-01-2015 07:25 PM

liking it"!
