When celebs dress up in native american costumes?

Marsh. 20-01-2015 11:41 PM

I find the third girl offensive because she's such a twat

Ninastar 20-01-2015 11:46 PM

No. So many people get pissy on the internet about this stuff and they need to get a life.

Obviously if they like painted their faces black or something to 'go' with the costume, then that would be a little distasteful, but really, IMO people are getting waaaay to arsey with this stuff.

I feel the same, but so many seemed to be saying it's wrong I was wondering if I was the only one not bothered by it.

Its because of this new trend on the internet (I blame tumblr, mainly). Its where 13 - 15 year olds see what they can find to be 'oppresive' and 'offensive' and its like a ****ing competion or something. It's so pathetic.

Hopefully these people will grow out of it and step out into the real world. Maybe they'll realise that life isn't as 'oppresive' as they want it to be.

the truth 21-01-2015 12:53 AM

LukeB 21-01-2015 12:55 AM

How are you two not married yet? :flutter:

Firewire 21-01-2015 12:56 AM

Yeah, I do actually. But that's only because I've been told it is... I feel like I can't argue otherwise I would be labelled a racist...

(Just so you know, I would never ever think you were racist. We all know you're not so don't worry so much)

Gstar 21-01-2015 01:45 AM

Not racist. I actually find native American clothing/style really nice and wouldn't mind wearing it one day

Me too...

Apparently my dads side of the family are all native American so I'd love to find out more about that some day

Gstar 21-01-2015 01:50 AM

jealousss. I wish I had native ancestors

Gstar 21-01-2015 01:52 AM

I'm gonna have a guess at who these celebs are

photo number one: christina
photo number two: the girl from little mix
photo number three: pixie lott with lee ryan in the background

andybigbro 21-01-2015 02:56 AM

I don't find it racist in the slightest. You get halloween costumes like that :conf2: it's just dressing up like their culture. You aren't being derogative.

This world is too serious these days. You can't do anything without it being labelled offensive

Christina wishes she was that slim. It's Ellie Goulding.

lostalex 21-01-2015 06:00 AM

i've seen tons of native americans that wear cowboy hats and blue jeans. so it's no more racist than that.

I soooooo-oooo agree Caitlin. This B.S. is really becoming more than tedious, I think it's time to call in the men in white coats with a strait jacket for morons who keep screaming 'racist' or 'sexist' or 'ageist' or 'homophobic' or 'xenophobic' and a plethora of other '-ics', at innocuous things.

'Get a fecking life' indeed.

I was beginning to feel the same. That it must be racist but I just wasn't seeing it. And as lostalex highlighted, if we start going down that road, pretty soon the clothes people can wear will be very limited.

Smithy 21-01-2015 07:24 AM

I personally don't, but if someone of that culture found it offensive I could understand why, I don't really think it's for individuals to judge what's gonna be offensive to a minority

Crimson Dynamo 21-01-2015 07:30 AM

I wonder if they would dress up as an aborigine?
