Did this series really NEED Katie Price?
 

Just a little question that has been bothering me the last few days. It is widely agreed that this series of Celeb BB is most possibly the best yet and not all in a good way. The confrontations, sexual conversations, throwings out, walk out, tears and tantrums has made it the most watched ever PLUS has gained it the BIGGEST ratings with over 2 million watching it most nights.

Because of all the above I am wondering WHY they put Katie Price in. I was thinking she might clash with the strong women etc but she was a nervous wreck in there and has been nothing but sweetness and light for the most part since she went in. So DID the show need her? I don't think it did if I am honest. (And I do like her well kind of anyway)

She is sickening to watch...all this 'I love you all' crap is getting just too much. She is going to ride through to the final unfortunately licking everyone's arses.

No this series certainly did not need her, in fact it actually never needed anyone else added to it because it was coming along fine on it's own.

No offence to Katie from me at all here but no one can deny that she has changed the dynamics of the house massively.

I know this sounds crazy but the money that has been wasted on so called 'high profile celebs' is staggering.

It's not confirmed but half a million quid for a nodding dog (Price) and rent-a-mouth Hopkins - God knows how much she is getting.

They may be knocked and mocked but often the TOWIE sorts are often good viewing and value for money. :eek:

Good point, however I would think that the two Katies might encourage new viewers who might not normally watch CBB. With TOWIE I would not be surprised if the demographic already overlapped with CBB.

Not in my view, it has gone downhill as a series for me since she went in.

I never like late entries to the house anyway in any BB series.

Not really getting the love for Pwicey, I think the producers are coaching her and had already told her she would be involved in the twist before they called her to the DR and gave her 24 hours to make her decision (what happened to making decisions there and then live, why give her 24 hours to mull it over :shrug:), I feel she was told to keep Hopkins in, she is using the show as a platform to air all her grievances, and quite frankly the show is now a dumbed down version of This Morning (if it is possible to dumb down This Morning :hehe:)

No reason for her to go in at the stage she did. I think they hoped with the history she has with most of the HM's things would kick off but it has just been a big flop imo.

They should have saved their money and sent Ken back in that would have sent the ratings through the roof :laugh:

The problem with having kp on the show is that we have seen her do it all before on other reality shows, rather than learning something new about a less well publicised celeb.

Not convinced on her changing the dynamic, I feel its all been a bit scripted, both from her and the other celebs. Of all the bb's that have gone before, I think this one is the most scripted, I'm not convinced we are seeing genuine personalities from any of them.
