Did the producers plans actually work?
Lots of people claiming this twist and the secret room fiasco have 'ruined' the show...I disagree and think the producers got exactly what they wanted in the end.
Or you could say it went exactly the way the producers wanted all along. More interest in the show, lots of attention on social media (any attention that garners interest is good in their eyes, bad or not) and the whole house turned back into a warzone with arguing and drama which will no doubt last a few more days, guiding the show until the next twist (Tuesdays LIVE Bombshell). Not that I agree with any guiding or manipulation of the show, in fact I'm of the opposite opinion that they should be left to it without any interference BUT having said that I can also see why the producers don't want them sitting around being boring, more and more of the BB fans that crop up each year seem to thrive on the dramas and it looks like the producers are trying to cater to that.. Thoughts? |
Yes I think they will be happy with the result, Perez has more fans because of it, and him being in the eviction mix will increase the vote percentage so financially it was a great move

I was worried last night when twitter was bursting with fights amongst the housemates when he returns. Back in Michelle and Emma's year the twist almost caused serious hurt and injury when fightgate broke out.
I found the twist sickening if I am honest. If Perez wanted to walk they should have told him think about it and then let him walk if he wanted. It looked like the secret room was fixed hurriedly to save Perez. I might be wrong. My least favourite highlights shows were this week with Perez hogging most of them talking to himself, preening and prancing and spouting vile comments about housemates. Let BB pat themselves on the back for thinking of this but I as a viewer think that it almost ruined a perfectly good series with high ratings. As I said I hope there wont be some serious repercussions as Perez has told everyone what he heard in that room By the way I don't think Perez has that many more fans as if he had surely they would have voted to send him straight to the final! |
BB were in a win/win situation, they always get what they want, the power lies in the "Edit".
|
It has certainly gotten the viewers talking :joker:
This is probably the 1st series in a very longtime that has me addicted to the 9pm HL show :D |

It shocked me to see them talking about it actually. |

its getting pathetic the parez show.

Overall yes there plan worked.
Observationally speaking I think Perez was very close to leaving the show. So they knew they had a spare room, it probably wasn't intended for him but they took the opportunity and its gonna pay off (he is still in here for 1), + everyone is talking about it and the housemates faces when he walked back in says it all. |

and the choose to show that. |
the cameras are on 24 7 and never stop - they only show us what they want.
|
Also he was not in the room long enough
|
No it didn't
There plan was imo do put Perez in a secret room to make the viewers warm to him and give him the pass to the final, example would be Michelle, Gina, Helen all went to a secret room and there fan base grew after |
The mere fact that the prods are manipulating anything by using any plan is just plain wrong, period.
|
Whether we like it or not, the producers have always manipulated BB in one way or another. The difference now is that rather than have manipulation to see showmances, comedy or whatever, the emphasis is on argument and drama, and that is largely due to the original casting.

But the fact remains that every year there are more and more new fans that thrive on the whole drama aspect of the show so I personally think the producers are always trying to accommodate that now. |
I thought it was a good twist. Perez walk out was hilarious and he was entertaining in the secret room. The image of Katie Hopkins pic between his legs was TV gold and I loved their faces when he went back in. This series is a classic and I'm not even a Perez 'fan'. He has definitely made this series.
I don't really understand the passionate Perez hate he is clearly playing the game. Last season I found James Jordan a repulsive human being. Perez is nowhere near as bad as that. At worst he is bizarre and annoying but I'm definitely not seeing any humiliation of elderly brain damaged movie stars. |
It was a great idea if you look at the point of view that has brought in the media attention but a bad one if you view it on the side of fairness. They need to redress the balance and stick Perez in the limelight as a back stabber and see how he handles it. Oh sorry I forgot, they did and he threatened to walk, shame on me for forgetting that.

I don't know. Personally it has made me lose interest with this series. The edit concentrating on Perez 90% of the time doesn't make each night that exciting either.
In terms of viewers the twist has worked, or should I say, it has maintained viewing figures and kept the dedicated audience higher than it was a year ago. Although generally across social media it has made people angry and whether you go on this forum, another forum or on any social media, it's all about Perez and Katie H. People are either ranting about them or arguing about them. I know C5 have been going more and more down this story route and concentrating on one or two people although for me that is killing the enjoyment of Big Brother. I blame the edit. |
