A voice

Michelle says she is a voice for the gay community. She says this country needs a voice. (Is that all of us or just the British gay community?) So who elected her? How does one come to be a voice or spokesperson for a community or country one does not really belong to? What does she actually do in this role she claims to have?

Or is it all really just a crock of celeb **** she self pontificates to make herself seem important?

I liked her in the beginning but now? It all seems rather fake and pretentious.

Good choice of word, "pretentious". Sums her public persona up pretty well.

I agree, good post op.

The UK gay community already have a voice, its called the Spanner Trust and its a voluntary organization that works tirelessly for for many aspects within gay rights, including a great deal of focus in public acceptance.

Michelle isn't known over here apart from the CBB house and the viewers that bother to watch it. Whilst I'm not against the use of fame to bring about good for a community of people, Michelle isn't famous here and all I've heard her talk about so far is drag queens, as though all male gays are somehow that!!. We have plenty of gay stars over here that are happy to stand up and be counted amongst gay right atavists; we really don't need someone who looks like a drag queen but isn't one, telling us what we need.

I love Michelle she is my runner up,but she's not as strong a woman as I expected her to be

Michelle was adopted, her parents were drag queens, she spends her life on drag queen tours looking after them and advising them. You just don't get Michelle, which is fine. Get to know her before you critize; she and Jonathan Ross are creating an English version of her show in the coming year so she will be known haha

She has done a LOT of work for the lgbt community, you can't knock her for that. A lot of people do actually view her as a voice too.
