Michelle does not represent the gay community...

...if dressing up as a woman and prancing around in woman's attire represents the gay community then we are not in 2015 i'm sorry.

I know being a drag queen is a job, and its very fun and they are all funny and i see all that. It represents freedom of expression and freedom to be who you want to be but it does NOT represent the gay community, so she shouldn't say that she represents the gay community because she doesn't, she represents a small part of it at most, but mostly represents her community which are drag queens.

(and if theyre anything like the ones im seeing on BOTS - being fame hungry, attention seeking, sexual freaks[WHAT IS WITH THE LICKING]then god forbid anyone thinking thats what being gay is all about). The ones on BOTS don't represent drag queens in a good light, and brings the gay community back 100 years.

Opinions?

I feel like her opinion of Perez would change if he put on a wig and a bit of lippy.

I am very fond of Michelle but you cannot say she represents the gay community as a whole!

YES YES YES.

JTM45 28-01-2015 11:05 PM

She really is a pathetic woman who thinks she can use a 'community' to make something of herself but if following Hopkins around like a lost sheep is all there is to her then i feel genuine pity for her!
Another 5 years and she can ship herself off to an old folks home where she can play 'Bad Bitches' with all of the other old ladies.:bored:

Yes but going back to MB's point - Perez has a very diva-ish attitude and is very attention seeking and likes being the center of attention - much like a Drag Queen.

She represents herself that is all.

Got me thinking Conzers and I'm speaking from my brother's perspective. He is gay and has staged charity drag shows....as you say, for artistic expression and fun in the context of the show and ticket sales/raising money.

The drag persona is a very small part of him as a whole. He wouldn't classify himself as a drag queen but just someone who has the freedom to express himself how he wants when he wants. I do know one thing.....he would find it highly amusing that a straight woman claims to represent 'the gays' on the basis of largely being known for a TV show with RuPaul.

She obviously has good intentions but an over-inflated opinion of her role in life in my opinion.

I agree and think this could be said for anyone other the planet. Can't see how anyone can say they represent anyone else, even politicians only pretend that they do.

YES! YOU HAVE IT!
He is a drag queen because he has the right for freedom of expression - he wants to do tht sometimes which is fair enough.

He is not a drag queen because he is gay.

She doesn't represent anyone but herself.
If she has a "cause" its not coming through effectively, she needs to take lessons from Perez on how to further that cause.
