Ted Robbins has collapsed on stage at Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights Live on the opening night in Manchester.

Reports from the theatre suggest he was in the middle of a solo part of the show and appeared to clutch his chest.

The curtains were then drawn and an announcement was made to the crowd that the show was stopping for the evening.

A Manchester Evening News reporter - who was at the show - described what happened: "Ted Robbins, who plays Den Perry in the hit show, was in the middle of a solo bit."

It's really awful news I hope the actors okay but what I'm upset about is that Den is one of my favourite characters and I'm watching the show on Wednesday in Manchester with a few of my friends I hope he's okay by then
