The jokes worn too thin.....
 

I have to say that when Princess posted the arguing thread, I was one of the members that asked her to stay. At that point I thought that the "in" d**m joke would ware off quickly. Sadly to say.... it hasnt.

To be honest, I hate this site at the moment. Its so negative. Yes I know that things have been smoothed over from the other night but there are still little reminders of the negativity.

I've posted lots recently and you all know I love this site but the way that I feel at the moment I just want to back off until silly petty feuds have fizzled out.

I'm just so sick of it!

Its Christmas time and I'm so happy at the moment ........ and this place is bringing me down!

Ok, damn! was made as a joke we didn't no it would make people upset and that people would get annoyed with it.

But its was quite clear that it offended some people and yet it still goes on........ I use the word don't get me wrong but..... from dictionary.com:

1. to declare (something) to be bad, unfit, invalid, or illegal.
2. to condemn as a failure: to d**n a play.
3. to bring condemnation upon; ruin.
4. to doom to eternal punishment or condemn to hell.
5. to swear at or curse, using the word “d**n”

hardly something that going to create a positive atmosphere is it?

alright then, i gave my opinion the other day in a thread and i got insulted but because people think the sun shines threw that members @ss that its ok. im not having ago but im just saying things that annoy me.

I'm feeling the same Kizwiz.

I understand that it was a joke but once you saw sombody was offended by it could yout just have said sorry and just left it there instead of picking fights with people.

I agree with Kiz to be honest
Its good to have debates on here and stuff but when it turns into and arguements it just bring the atmosphere on the whole forum

A few posts now i've saw jibes at myself from certain members who can't let go and move on. And then theres the boring conspiracy of the 'demon admins'... :sleep:

I enjoy posting on here, like you say, it's good to be back but it all seems a bit childish at the moment, and thats coming from a self-confessed kid like me!

People will overlook and say we're moaning.. but anyone who knows me well... knows i like a laugh and a joke as much as anyone but i just don't see why people are raving over this word, maybe it's because they think it's getting to people? I have no idea.

I can see, that this is going to turn into a battle.

I don't, personally, see a problem with it. I think if it 'offends' people then they should ignore it.

Its not about other members jay.... its how I feel....... am i not allowed to feel that this type of negativeness shouldnt be on the forum???

Yes you got a warning..... I didn't comment on that...... and I wont to be fair.... this thread wasnt started to discuss..... yet again..... whether you should or should not have received your warning! We had all of that yesterday and I am well and truly sick of it.

For me it's not the actual word, it could be ANYTHING, it could be random letters but it just seems to be THERE, in every post, staring right at me and i want to punch it even though that is impossible. I don't think it's offensive, just annoying.

Maybe if i offer some :flowers: to the DAMN Dudes, they might stop? :sad: :tongue:

Im sorry you feel like that but i have as much right to give my opinion as you do.

When the dude the other night said damn offended him I don't even think I used it towards him again from that point on and not in responce to people's posts like I was before since I have come back from this ban.

A big fuss is being made over the repeated use of a catchphrase off some tv show and yet far more offensive stuff goes unoticed just because it's been said a few too many times in some people's opinion.

I can see how it could be annoying, cause as Ant said, it's like in every post. But it's just a little joke, some fun. No harm meant. :tongue:

But then we would be ignoring 3 really good members who make great posts by doing that. If only there was a 'word-blocker' in which you could decide if you wanted or didn't want certain words to appear. :laugh:

I do think that if it is upsetting people or offending people then it shouldn't be down to Admin to stop it, i think it should be down to the members doing it to decide whether they want to stop it or not knowing it is upsetting or offending people. Personally, it don't offend nor upset me but that's besides the point.

If it's such a big deal to people over the use of a word I'll stick to posting all my Damn jokes in one thread so you don't have to bloody well read them but I'm not happy about it.Perhaps the people that want to call other members pathetic, stupid bitch and other insults can keep that to another thread and all because that's a sure as hell lot more negative than damn.

It was all meant to be light hearted but it's been taken the wrong way by some and I'm sorry for that.

I remember way back when you were a new member, calling me something along the lines of an 'emo' or something to do with the music i listen too, but yet i have never ever brought that up.
