Offended
I think society gets offended too easily nowadays.
People are calling Katie Hopkins and others like her 'evil' and 'sick' because of the things they say. Surely words like 'evil' and 'sick' should be reserved for child molesters, murderers, terrorists etc. It's only words. You don't have to read them or listen to them. And you don't have to get butt-hurt every time you disagree with someone's opinion. |
yup people get butt hurt far to easily. They go on about how much of an evil person Katie Hopkins is for writing columns attacking people/things she doesn't like and THEN they make endless threads slagging her off and calling her every name under the sun. Good old hypocrisy

I think theres a huge difference with giving an opinion and deliberately setting out to offend others that have never done wrong to you in anyway.
I would get the 'free speech' or 'her opinion' argument for Katie Hopkins had she ever said anything nice to anyone on her social media or tv interviews etc but she hasn't, it's all done to shock as much people as possible and gain as much exposure as possible. Definitely not a nice person and I don't think people like that should be given a platform to hurl abuse and deliberately try to hurt others IMO. |
Very true, people love to he part of the offended or grieving crowd, it's a new modern day religion.

Especially in some of the terminology used. I bet, if she stood there in front of some of these so called keyboard warriors, they would not say a word. |
Usual mawkish over reaction
and as usual the ones who bleat on about her the most use the exact language and tone about her that they are criticising in the first place oooh the irony.. |

People DO have a right to be offended if they are being targeted though. And I bet you if Katie Hopkins stood in front of any of the people she had targeted she wouldn't say a word since by the definition of her job she is one of those keyboard warriors you mentioned  |

I doubt she is a nice person, and I question if she really believes half the stuff she spouts, or if it is all just for effect. There are times I find her amusing to watch, but I have also questioned whether she would be amusing, or even remotely interesting if it weren't for Perez's presence in the house. I think the fact that he is possibly the biggest twat ever to have stepped in to the BB House (and that is quite an achievement) makes her pale in comparison and seem less obnoxious. I do find her interesting to watch, and I wonder if she has some self-esteem issues, as she seems unable to take a compliment or to accept that anyone genuinely likes her. When she leaves the house she will go back to spouting off her opinions everywhere and people will go back to being butt-hurt by her words. There's a market for 'controversial' media personalities and she ticks all the boxes. I feel bad for her kids because she probably does love them and wants the best for them but their lives can't be easy when mum behaves like that and has a very public platform to do so. |

Yeah, seventy something years ago something very similar happened - people were not offeneded that their Jewish friends and neighbours were being targeted by the government of the day. People looked and watched what others did - nothing or not enough. When the world woke up to the facts six million Jewish people had been killed by this evil government and those who did nothing tacitly assisted and agreed. Katie Hopkins is an intolerant and evil person imo, not much different to any of the tyrants in history. I don't mind anyone having an opinion that is expressed in a fair and honest way and open to debate or discussion by those around. Katie Hopkins expresses her opinions in socially awkward and inflexible manner and does not tolerate discussion on her statements and will not compromise. The moment someone says anything or trys to express their own opinion she becomes defensive and shuts the conversation down with nasty personal comments. Katie Hopkins dictates - civilised society is run on democracy. |
