"I can't disappoint you..."

Tonight we've heard both Katie H and Michelle say that they can't disappoint anyone other than their parents or children. Where did this concept come from?

I'm especially surprised for this idea to be put forward by two people who are renowned for their supposed 'telling it straight'. Surely anyone can be disappointed by someone in whom they had faith for one reason or another? Disappointment is basically feeling let down by those you respected and thought would behave better. It's not a matter of blood-ties!

In this scenario, it feels like a really lazy cop-out.

Precisely. Anyone has the capacity, and the right, to feel disappointed in someone. As you say, it was a lazy way of rebuking those who said they were disappointed.

It's also funny that Michelle and Hopkins both used the same comeback.

Yes, that coincidence could almost seem suspicious if we were cynical people!

I'm disappointed with Michelle tbh  She can not care all she wants but I still am lol

Michelle is so far KH ass she can't even see anymore. :joker:

I think it was more a case of they dont like to feel the disappointment from their parents or children the most, others not so much or not at all.

Well obviously but it doesn't mean that others can't be disappointed in them. I mean they're on a popularity show were they signed up to be judged so there's going to be lots of strangers feeling disappointed in them, whether they like it or not

It's like when crazy fans post that they're "so proud of Lady Gaga", as if they actually know her.

Well it's not really, you don't have to know someone very well to be disappointed in them, like I knew nothing about Michelle before she went in but I really liked her VT and what she apparantly stood for, when I realised that she wasn't actually like that I was a bit disappointed  It's like saying "Oh you went out for dinner last night, how was the food?" "Disappointing" ............

DemolitionRed 04-02-2015 10:28 AM

Katie said it first and Michelle took it in and used it later. Very odd thing to state.

Very true. I don't think Michelle has much going on 'upstairs' if you know what I mean. She latches onto bandwagons, other people's ideas, strong personalities. She has no substance herself. She's very good at mimicing emotions that she feels are popular, but she doesn't really feel those emotions herself.

Indeed. Good job we're not cynical at all, eh? :hehe:

I'm not disappointed in any of them. They were all bound to be the usual dull housemates. SO a big tick next to all their names, except Perez of course(and Chegwin when he gives Hopkins a piece of his mind)

I read that too quickly. I thought at first you'd written "...when he gives Hopkins a piece of his meat"! That was an image I didn't want to have...

Lostie, I don't doubt we're both as pure as the driven snow. (The paragraph above does nothing to contradict this, honest...)
