Channel 5 have denied that Perez Hilton was ‘made to stay’ on Celebrity Big Brother.



Perez was evicted from the show last night but claimed he had tried to “repeatedly” walk from the house.

Speaking to Rylan Clark on Bit On The Side, Perez even told how producers took him out of the Diary Room at one point to personally convince him to remain in the series

“They convinced me not to leave. Big Brother convinced me not to leave – repeatedly. I tried walking many times,” Perez said. “I’m being really honest. Let me be real honest – this is my time to be real honest.

“I won’t mention names but I got out of the Diary Room and somebody from production said, ‘You can’t quit – it’s The Perez Show’. I’m all about me, myself and I.”

Saying that he ‘didn’t want to get anyone in trouble’, Perez continued: “I won’t mention who. They did… While I was in the house they said, ‘This is the most watched Celebrity Big Brother in years and it’s The Perez Show’.

“Once I heard that I thought, ‘Alright, why am I going to quit if it’s the ******ing Perez Show and if it’s the most watched season in years?'”

A spokesperson for Channel 5 has since responded to Perez’s comments with a short statement.

They said: “Housemates are free to leave the house at any time.

“Perez’s decision to stay in the Big Brother house was his, and his alone.”

I knew it and its just another story he made up if i was the producers id take him to court

I still believe he was convinced to stay rather than them telling him it was his show etc, they generally try to convince all possible walkers.

Watching him on BOTS stall Rylan and give himself time to think up a lie though was a pretty big indicator he was lying imo

I do not believe them for a second. Of course they would not admit to that, even if it happened, cause it would make them look really bad.

The Perez Show comment was most likely exaggeration on his part, but i believe fully that he was persuaded hard by the producers to stay in the house.

But people wont accept this and will blame anything on him being evicted

i believe Perez tbh, the way the secret room task happened right after he decided he wanted out was a bit suspicious imo

The only thing i believ is they wanted him to stay because they already had 3 leave from the back door the rest he made up

I believe Perez was asked to stay, I also believe he was told he could chill out in the "secret room " and that's why he continued with the show .

This basically the rest he made up

I am sorry but I believe his account,for ages BB denied anything about fights and someones mess put in a freezer.

It was then when more and more mentioned it that came out that they then had to admit they were wrong, being dragged kicking and screaming doing so.

BB are liars and manipulators, they do it every series.

Hew as threatening to leave and even after time had passed was stlll saying he was leaving, then in a flash, he was told BB wanted him foer a secret mission, the secret room came into play, the watching of his fellow housemates too.
All at that moment.

No public vote arranged as to who went in the secret room, no further noms from the other hms either.

There had been 2 ejections and 1 walkout at that time,had he gone they would have looked pretty bad in my view.
I really believe his account and I wouldn't, after what ahs gone on in past series, believe a word BB says.
Channel 5 may have no idea of it but the BB production are far from reliable as to what they say and present too,even as to the highlights most of the time.

That statement is all about semantics. Yes, perez was free to go at anytime, but that doesn't mean they did not arrange the secret room for him and exclude him from nominations in order to help convince him to stay.

If they had made any other statement it would mean he was being held against his will.

Good point, it would have fallen flat on it's ass if he had left at that point

Or they only film till a certain time?

Or they sleep in a hotel?

That statement doesn't really contradict what he said though does it. He was still technically free to leave anytime, it was still technically his decision to stay, that doesn't mean they didn't do everything in their power to persuade him

Also the way he entered the secret room looking pretty fed up and straight away sparked up and said the Perez Show was back on.. I'm sure he was told that Big Brother had actually become the Perez Show to convince him to stay.

I agree. I don't believe anyone told him it was the Perez show and he was popular etc
