What do you call these?
 
Queen cake or Cup cake? I call them Queen cakes but my daughter calls them cup cakes, when did everything get so Americanised? :think:

My family have always called them fairy cakes.. but if i had to use one of the options, I'd use cup cakes :laugh:

Here I am, they were definately called Queen Cakes when we made them at school, I call them Fairy cakes now because a bit like saying "press" for cupboard nobody knows what I am talking about so in the interests of fitting in to the culture of my adopted land and all that. :hehe:

lol Press, yeah i had to drop that when I lived in London :laugh: I never knew Queen cake was an Irish thing though

Top one is an iced Fairy cake, 2nd one is a butterfly cake, the deep one is a cup cake.

An original Queen cake is a Fairy cake with currants in.
