Has an HM's relative or close friend died unexpectedly? If so, does BB drop the news in the detached "Big Brother has something to tell you...", or are they removed from the House and sat down by a member of the production team?

Yeah did that old man in BB8's gran die or something?

Usually they tell them in the DR and it's up to the housemate whether they leave or not

Tom (BB12) and Scott (BB13) both lost a relative while in the house.

Jonathan was the millionaire. You might be thinking of Jonty.

It was BB12 Tom's grandmother who died while he was in the house iirc, although I do remember some people saying it was his sister  I think he was able to go to the funeral and come back as well
