My Big Brother Ideas [Live Show, Highlights & more!]
 

I've decided to make this thread a place where I can just post my ideas for the shows and possible graphics bits and bobs. Below are a couple of ideas that I've had for possible Eviction/Live Show sequences.

I like this, I just feel that Emma's walking out of the eye is a bit boring, perhaps scrap that bit

I mostly like that, I agree that the live shows need a bit of a shake up. I'd actually get rid of the countdown and sirens but keep the delayed music - whoever picks it can occasionally have a bit of a sense of humour I guess. And I hadn't noticed how often Emma puts weird accents on when pronouncing words before. Because that'll never get annoying...

All in all your ideas are common sense. Just picking up on the launch and might get a bit repetitive having the BB theme for every HM - unlike evictions you've got probably 16 plays of the theme. And one thing I've always thought they should do for launch shows is play the VTs after the HMs enter the house to avoid the booing. Indeed you could pretty much do away with them and go with:

- Short intro vid with the HM doing nothing more than introducing themselves with their name, age, job and home town.
- Bring them out into the crowd to do the walk to the studio and then have them reveal more about themselves in voiceover only (instead of Marcus), played only for viewers at home so the crowd are not influenced.
- Focus more on their interaction in the house.


Although to be honest what I would do is begin the show with all the HMs outside the house, move them all in immediately then have their VTs play during at points during an hour of live streaming.

Emma Willis Opening Line (Like Davina used to do). Done in front of the crowd, where the eye stage can be seen in the back.

House Tour, every launch.
I've noticed for the last few CBB's, they've just started introducing the first housemate straight away, two minutes in. I don't want a house tour done from the big screen, I want Emma to go in the house.

For Civilian Big Brother, the VT's need changing. I want them to do it C4 style, where you'd actually see the housemate behind a black background, and video snippets of their lives I don't like how these days they're in a tacky room, with screen blocks.
The CBB VT's are fine.

The housemates entering songs are fine.
Marcus does the commentary, whilst the BB theme plays in the background.

Live Eviction
Emma opening intro line, done inside the eye studio, for evictions.
Emma then comes out of the eye, after the intro and titles.

Emma says the eviction numbers, and whilst doing so, the nominee's face is shown through the big screen, but not directly. Emma will still be in front of the camera. Like they did for BB5-BB9, and BB14.

Emma says the T&C's, instead of Marcus, and the house is shown on screen.

Emma announces evicted housemate, inside the eye studio, and the crowd are told to be quiet.
When announcing the result, the eye studio, changes to red lighting.

Also, scrap announcing who is safe, when there is more than 3 housemates up. It takes up too much time, and it indicates who is popular. Just announce the evicted housemate, and then they leave the house.

Marcus does the "PLEASE LEAVE THE HOUSE".

Scrap the countdown, and sirens.
The eviction door opens immediately and the evictee hears the crowd noise.
Music begins to play, once housemate walks down the stairs.
Music varies depending on the housemate.

Outside crowd gagged, during eviction interviews. I'm sick of always hearing OFF chants, when a housemate is being interviewed, and they can't hear. It's really rude too.

I like the countdown where it starts off slow(10,9,8,7,6,5) then it speeds up (4321).

Pretty much this tbh. Maybe scrap Marcus screaming into the house on eviction nights

That photo really highlights the size of BB14's cast, doesn't it? :laugh:

An ideal finale should not be having 5 finalists. 4 at the absolute best, but if you want a finale to feel like a finale again cut it down to 3 and make reaching the final day (and indeed week) an actual achievement. In recent years it seems pretty much half the cast have made the last week.

One of my ideas was used in the launch tonight!

I had another go at doing an eviction sequence if anyone's interested (apologies to the upload to Dailymotion, YouTube rejected the video and it was too big for Vimeo).

Video should be working now, I forgot to confirm my email address for my Dailymotion account :laugh:

I'll be honest, I prefer it as it is... the sound effects after Emma announces the evictee kinda drown out the live feed and the countdown/music are still pointless at whatever speed. But making the countdown faster as it reaches 1 is quite a nice touch.

GET RID OF THAT ROTATING EYE GIMMICK!

I've made a small video with a few tweaks that could be made to the highlights show. It's not perfect by any means, but it does show how all the OTTness that is currently in the highlights show could be cut by a huge amount.

I am very fond of the countdown. Perhaps you could add at the end someone saying that the voting is closed (for visually impaired viewers).

Thanks for the feedback. Perhaps not because it would involve having to speak over the highlights (the point of the smaller countdown is to put the focus back on the highlights rather than having a strap take up the lower thirds, which can be distracting).
