Am I being harsh?

Or am I the only one thinking that if you've got a bug you shouldn't be going out to see family members that haven't got the bug? I'm trying not to let it bother me as this person has got health issues at the minute, but I don't get why anyone whilst they're feeling sick would want to go and spread the illness?

What do you think guys?

I tend to stay away from everyone who is ill with a bug/flu or something catchable friends and family

Sadly my Mom is going to be babysitting my Niece and Nephew by herself on Tuesday and Wednesday and they've caught the bug, and my Mom always inevitably catches it and it will spread to me I just know it.:joker:

If someone is really ill they should be in bed..and you should be visiting them, with love, magazines, a nice cuppa..wearing an oxygen mask if you are concerned about sharing germs.

Seriously though, I don't mind if it is someone I love, my son normally manages to come over for comfort And servitude if he has man flu etc.

No you are not being harsh, I rarely am ill and rarely get anything but even with a simple cold,I will keep away for a few days from anyone until it is cleared.

I actually, oddly enough in relation to this thread, went to see someone last week with book I had they wanted to borrow, they said when I got there that they were ill and were always being sick, then graphically described the other side of that.
I said I had to be somewhere, left the book and shot off.

No you are not being harsh at all Mock, it is more like consideration for others than being harsh to be expected to keep away from others when having anything possibly infectious.

I'm in the other boat because I'm the person that is always ill, but if it's worse than a common cold, i try to avoid healthy people as much as possible as to not spread my misery.

If say one of my cousins or siblings went to visit my nan whilst they was ill, i'd be very angry if my nan caught the bug

This really. (Though I've often been guilty of 'doping myself up' with Beecham's Powders etc and going to work, but that was generally outdoors work and not really in close contact with other people).

Tbf everyone has to work eventually, so it's not your fault that you're going outside on them days anyway.

Ugh I hate it. I went off it with my mum not long ago...she doesn't come often but she chose to come when she had a stomach bug, that my daughter caught. I thought..ffs, we see each other maybe once a fortnight, could you not have picked a day when you werent spewing up to come over. I find it really selfish tbh. Not so much with colds as people get colds all the time but things like vomitting bugs, I hate people pretty much purposely spreading them by being stupid
