Cities Skylines

Check it out

Scarlett. 11-03-2015 12:23 AM

Just been playing this, its fantastic, it's the game that should have followed Sim City 4, it just feels so good to play, funnily, if you build a dam in the wrong place, you can flood your city xD

Smithy 11-03-2015 10:36 PM

I've just watched a load of videos on this and it looks amazing :flutter:

so much better than sim city, might have to get it

Glenn. 11-03-2015 10:38 PM

Smithy 12-03-2015 09:38 PM

Any actual info about it revealed?

Scarlett. 07-08-2015 05:40 PM

The day/night cycle will be added to the game for free, but the features for the cycle will be in the expansion, which is pretty decent

Cities Skylines to get Snowfall expansion!

Best city since since Sim City 4

Glenn. 20-01-2016 12:59 AM

Slightly random expansion

Scarlett. 20-01-2016 01:18 AM

There's gonna be other weather modes, but they're gonna be added for free, snow is the only on that will impact the gameplay.

New info

In Snowfall, the difficulty heats up when the city cools down, thanks to a new in-game temperature reading that will have residents bundling up for warmth when the weather outside is frightful. Cosmetic weather, composed of rain and fog, will be added to Cities: Skylines as part of a free update, along with other features to be announced soon. Players who own Snowfall will get to face new challenges such as ensuring that their city infrastructure can handle seasonal heating demands – and, when the snow starts falling, that the roads can stay clear. New snowplow services will be required to prevent traffic from freezing in place, while new all-weather trams and expanded public transit options can help residents and visitors alike get around town – and visit the new winter parks and landmarks available in Snowfall.

Snowfall will include:

Now is the Winter of This Content: Rain and fog for existing maps, plus a new “Winter” map theme with snow and all of its challenges
The Streetcars You Desire: Expanded public transportation options, including easier management of existing lines – and Trams, a new system demanded by fans
World Warmth, Too: Cold weather increases demands for electricity, unless new water-based heat systems are in place
Plowers to the People: Build a snowplow depot to keep traffic flowing during winter weather, and employ new road maintenance systems to keep your streets in shape
New Chirps: #yeahthereare

I just restarted playing SC4 and am using the NAM mod to fix the traffic simulator

This is my next game. Speaking of flooding, they need to release Cities - FEMA expansion... When Disaster Strikes whose going to handle all those payouts  With news station coverage, radio chatter, helicopters, flood maps, disaster recovery and all...

I can joke because of where I live. We have such a problem with flooding because the city is so spread out it's covered a good deal of nature's flood plains. It should be including the game mechanic because it's a real problem with suburban sprawl especially if you live in a tropical climate.

Smithy 27-08-2016 10:04 PM

I got the night and day expansion (turned off the night mode cause i didn't like it lol) didn't get the snow one, but i think ill get this one

Toy Soldier 03-02-2020 08:36 AM

I got this in a steam sale and gave it a go a few days ago. I swear I can't figure it out. Everyone was miserable and no one would get jobs... like everyone was unemployed, and all the commercial places were like "8 jobs available". Lazy bastards.

I might give it another go, I didn't look at any tutorial stuff or anything to be fair... I just started clicking on stuff and then got upset when nothing worked.
