Yeah I think that's a good guess, although hope it won't clash with BGT, so maybe it will launch early May and avoid BGT live week.

Jason. 15-03-2015 04:16 PM

Launch = 2.6M

If it's a good series = 2.1M average.
If it's like Power Trip = 1.4M average.

I was looking at an old thread on DigitalSpy, a couple of days ago for the BB8 Ratings Thread.

The predictions were over 6M.
Now we can only predict over 2M. :bawling:

I know.
It's weird thinking though.

The predictions for BB8 were so high, and now eight years later.
Were predicting less than 2.5M.

Funny how things change.
One thing I will never understand is how Big Brother died.

I don't mean Channel 5.
I mean after BB7-BB8.

The ratings dropped and dropped.
Channel 5 gets a lot of stick. But if BB was still on Channel 4, in 2015. It would be averaging less than a million. On Channel 4, the ratings dropped year by year. On Channel 5, they seem to be similar yearly.

BB7 = 4.7M

BB8 = 3.9M (Big 0.8M drop from BB7)
BB9 = 3.6M
BB10 = 2.5M (Massive 1.1M drop from the year before)
BB11 = 2.8M (Slight increase, but only because it was the last one)

The ratings from BB7 to BB10 show how BB lost just over 2M, in just 3 years.

I think with c4 they hardly changed it over the years while not perfect on c5 they have at least tried to change things around with the show

mrmattybeck1 16-03-2015 07:48 PM

Bbuk ratings channel 5
BB12 1.5m
BB13 1.6m
BB14 2m
BB15 1.5m very steady

Strictly Jake 16-03-2015 08:13 PM

1.3 million

The civillian got 2.93 in 2012, can anyone remember why? At least the celebrity series is more upmarket now, maybe something like 2.9? 3m would be grrat if we got good promotion.

I was just thinking that.
The two launches (BB12 and BB13), with Brian Dowling rated very highly. At the high end of 2M.

BB14 and BB13, Emma Willis. Have rated lower. At 2.4M.
I'm confused to why, as BB14 and BB15 got much more promotion than BB12 and BB13 did.

This could mean either two things:

1) Themed series like BB14 and BB15 are not a good idea, as both of them have attracted less viewers than the non-themed series like BB12 and BB13.

2) Maybe Brian Dowling increased launch viewers. (Doubt it).

Shocked BB14 launch got 2.35M. Quiet a big drop from the year before, by 0.6M.
I remember Secrets and Lies being well promoted and quiet exciting. Plus, I would've thought it would have pulled more viewers, as it had a new host, and theme.

I'm shocked CBB15 launched less than CBB13 did.
CBB15 had fantastic promotion, whilst CBB13 had **** all, and yet CBB13 scraped 3.7M, whilst CBB13 got 2.65M.

It seems the more they promote, they lower the ratings.

Cal. 17-03-2015 05:19 PM

2.4 million

duclos 20-03-2015 03:17 AM

2.7 million is what I hope but because of Power Trip I'm expecting 2.3

JohnnyBB 21-03-2015 02:29 PM

1.8 million

Can't see it being under 2m if c5 did it right again think it could easily get 2m but c5 seem to priotise cbb these days

I agree.
When Civilian BB averages 2.1M, they'll begin to care more about it, like they do with CBB, at the moment.

It only took a 0.2M increase from CBB11 to CBB13 to start making Channel 5 care more about Celebrity Big Brother.

If BB16 is good, and averages 2M. That would be a massive increase to BB15, which averaged just under 1.6M, at 1.57M.
I think that will start to make C5 also care more about the civilian version.
BB14 was close to averaging 2M, but failed. In all fairness, BB14 wasn't flawless, and still had some errors.

It would be fantastic if they got both versions right.
Channel 4 did in 2005 and 2006.
