USA: Dzhokhar Tsarnaev convicted in Boston Marathon bombing, death penalty

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was convicted Wednesday in the Boston Marathon bombing by a federal jury that now must decide whether the 21-year-old former college student should be executed.

Tsarnaev kept his hands folded in front of him and looked down at the defense table as listened to the verdict, reached after a day and a half of deliberations. He was found guilty on charges that included conspiracy and use of a weapon of mass destruction — offenses punishable by death.

His conviction was practically a foregone conclusion, given his lawyer's startling admission during opening statements that Tsarnaev carried out the attack with his now-dead older brother, Tamerlan.

Hopefully they will end his miserable misguided life as soon a s possible to reduce the costs to the taxpayers.

I thought we abolished the death penalty.

I am not surprised tbh, however anyone following this story properly should be ****ing embarrassed at how inept the police have been throughout the entire thing...

Expecting defense lawyers to use 'older brothers influence' to save his life. Though personally I would rather get the death penalty than life in a supermaxx...

In Boston
there is not many put to Death
and 1 member of the jury has said prison.

The last time Boston had one was around 1947

So they need to move him to another state

"Prosecutors, however, portrayed the brothers — ethnic Chechens who moved to the United States from Russia more than a decade ago — as full partners in a brutal and coldblooded plan to punish the U.S. for its wars in Muslim countries. Jihadist writings, lectures and videos were found on both their computers, though the defense argued that Tamerlan downloaded the material and sent it to his brother."

Re-wind:

A long time ago, when I wrote on here about 'long ensconced immigrant fifth columnist Islamic Terrorists working from within all the world's democracies to bring about their downfall' I was met with derision and ridicule from certain quarters for my views.

Good. I certainly wont feel any sympathy for him

BBfanUSA 09-04-2015 02:02 PM

While he may have been under the influence of his brother, I find it hard to believe that he did all of this stuff under the influence of his brother without the thought that what he's doing was wrong.

He deserves the chair.

If he didn't run, I'm sure he'd just get life.

Tom4784 09-04-2015 02:22 PM

Give him a life sentence, let him live with what he's done and let him face the prospect of a life of imprisonment.

This, much more tough and also more just imo.

BBfanUSA 09-04-2015 02:38 PM

And let the taxpayers' tax money pay for him to stay alive in jail? No

It costs more to execute someone then it does to keep them alive.

Ammi 10-04-2015 06:22 AM

..what Dezzy said really..let him live with himself/live a long life without freedom...and may each day he lives be long and miserable...
