Bit of an insight into the what we can expect

Just found a couple of documents attached to the application to change the roof on the house, which was submitted at the end of BB14. It seems like they are 100% changing the roof but it also seems like they submitted an application to change the exterior layout to a BB8 style one.
Side view of changed roof.

Another view of roof and what seems like a new exterior.

There is also a letter confirming civilian BB is being cut back to 2 months long and that there is a gap between CBB16 and BB16.

Two months long? :omgno:

Change in Broadcaster
As you are aware the BB format sees a group of individuals housed within a studio set isolated from the
outside world and evicted on the basis of a public vote. Evictions from the BB house in front of an open air
audience are a key aspect of the format.
In 2011 the broadcaster changed from Channel 4 to Channel 5. While continuing to follow the production
pattern of a ‘celebrity’ one month show in January followed by a three month long show in the summer,
Channel 5 wants to shorten the summer “civilian show” to two months and use the final month to make a additional “celebrity” version of the show. It is vital for the longevity of the show that it is constantly evaluated and refreshed. As the “celebrity” version of the format is shorter, usually three to four weeks
compared to the normal show which is two to three months, there is a need to evict participants at a greater
rate. This requires relatively more evictions and therefore more open air audiences.
Seems so, I don't see why considering everyone hates summer CBB.

Rob! 10-04-2015 01:27 AM

I can't see any of that :(

Also bye at two months :hmph:

MB. 10-04-2015 01:29 AM

We're going to get a far too short BB and an overly long CBB, aren't we? :umm2:

Glenn. 10-04-2015 01:32 AM

An 8 week series is fine

Rob! 10-04-2015 01:33 AM

You know what's going to happen - this series is going to be absolutely fantastic and it'll end up being too short and rushed :fist:

Glenn. 10-04-2015 01:38 AM

I'd rather it be too short than try and cope with a series like last year

Jason. 10-04-2015 01:39 AM

I'm sick of Channel 5 overusing the celebrity market and ditching the Civilian.
It's ****ing pissing me off.

Why is BB being sacrificed for a longer CBB, which only gets about 0.3M viewers more?

The summer is for Civilian Big Brother, not Celebrity.

Honestly, the popularity of CBB has gone to their thick heads. If anything, they should have less of it, to prevent the format getting stale.
Can't wait will CBB goes back to averaging 2.6M, maybe then they'll begin to care about the civilian more.

Why does CBB get all the effort, whilst the original show (Big Brother) is left to rot and rot?

:rant::rant::rant::rant::rant:

Jason. 10-04-2015 01:45 AM

If they keep treating the civilian like dog **** on a shoe, then why should we tune in to it?

Might as well axe it, if it's not going to be done properly.

Rob! 10-04-2015 01:47 AM

Tbf they sound like they're totally revamping the house in a way that'll make the BB13-14 change look like a lick of paint.
Also..much as I love the civilian series, you can't blame them for shortening it, especially after last year. All it needs is for BB16 to be a huge success and then they'll extend it again.

It's just painful as CBB used to be a bonus, just to pass time in cold January nights, and BB, in the summer was the main event.

Now it's the other way round.
BB isn't even a bonus, TBH.
It's all about CBB now, and it's annoying. You'd think as they've gotten CBB right, they could improve BB, and actually have a year when both formats are good, like 2005 and 2006 on C4 had, when both CBB and BB's that year were brilliant.

Marsh. 10-04-2015 02:37 AM

Here for big changes to that dusty exterior :clap1:

Gstar 10-04-2015 02:59 AM

None of the links worked

Strictly Jake 10-04-2015 08:18 AM

It better be longer than 2 months! I don't like summer cbb

Jamesy 10-04-2015 08:27 AM

I guess they want to be safe this year and just cut the civilian show. The matter of the fact is that CBB gets more viewers, more publicity and it probably gets more interest from partners that pay the show to advertise products and such. This is just C5's way of ensuring the show stays successful for them.

I'm slightly worried this is the start of civilian BB becoming axed, so fingers crossed BB16 is amazing. Thinking about it too, maybe casual viewers will stick with it longest if it's just two months, idk.

I hate summer CBB but I can understand why they are making these changes. Anyway should we believe the two month thing given a week or two ago it was being hinted BB16 could be the longer C5 civilian series ever, hmm.

The house changes sound great, but those links aren't working :(

Will. 10-04-2015 08:41 AM

Looks like RealityBox were right about the series being shorter

exactly, the final weeks usually drag anyway :clap1:

Will. 10-04-2015 08:45 AM

Was BB8 house nice?

RichardG 10-04-2015 10:39 AM

An 8 week series is great for me. I hate long dragged out civilian series', I always get bored and don't bother with the final few weeks of it.

JoshBB 10-04-2015 10:40 AM

I prefer 10+ weeks :(

elliebrew 10-04-2015 10:52 AM

Cant see the documents :(:(

Phillip! 10-04-2015 11:48 AM

8 weeks is fine, it'll probably look like a better series if it's shorter because there won't be a drag at the end

I hope they change the exterior as well

Natalie. 10-04-2015 12:28 PM

How long are they normally?

The Channel 5 series have been between 64 days (9 weeks) and 72 days (10 weeks). If they cut it down to 8, it'll be the shortest series ever.
